Video Narrative is a production company that specializes in creating story-driven demo reels for professional speakers. We work with thought-leaders, entrepreneurs, trainers, and keynote presenters throughout the country, helping them tell their stories and build their brands through engaging videos. Each of our clients are an expert in their industry. Whether it’s in leadership, health, business, social media, or any other field, our clients have built their careers by mastering a skill-set and now speak to audiences across the country helping others to follow in their footsteps. We tell the stories behind their work. 

Job Description

We are searching for 2 storytelling-editors who are interested in growing both as a video editor as well as in their personal lives.  In each video project, we take the time to learn our client’s industry, the methodology they teach, and the journey that inspired their work.  Often they have written books, which we read or review in order to gain perspective on how we will create their video(s).  Your job will be to synthesize their message from multiple trainings or keynote addresses, choose the best clips, and craft a story (using our narrative model).   To accomplish this task you need to enjoy learning new subjects, feel comfortable working on a team of fellow creatives, be intuitive in your editing, and be interested in personal growth—which will come as a byproduct of being immersed in inspiring messages.  

Depending on the size of each project, you will be editing 1-2 videos per month.  You can work from home or in the office, but you will need to be present at one team meeting each week and coordinate with the project lead throughout the editing process.   

Although this is not a requirement, we are also interested in editors who would like to be involved in projects from start to finish.  This includes:  filming on location with clients, capturing interviews and b-roll footage, and then editing the final video.

Qualifications

Although you do not need to be an expert, you do need to be very comfortable editing in Adobe Premeire, and be relatively skilled working in After Effects and Photoshop.  You will not be required to design content from scratch in After Effects, however we do customize templates for our clients.  It is preferable that you are also able to navigate other programs in the Adobe Suite.  

You need to have your own computer and editing software.  We will provide a great environment to work in which includes an office space, conference room, and filming studio.  We will also provide the external hard drives and servers for the content you will be editing. 

Additional Information

We are looking to hire storytelling-editors who are the right fit for our team. You may have years of filming and editing experience or you may be newer in the industry.
