Job Description

Visa Performance Solutions (VPS) drives tangible, impactful and financial results for Visa’s network clients, including financial services and merchants. Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting, data analytics, brand management, marketing, operations and macroeconomics, VPS solves the most strategic problems for our clients.

This role is with the New York based VPS, Large Client Partner team. This team provides consulting and solution services for Visa’s largest issuer and co-brand merchant partners in North America including (but not limited to) Chase, US Bank, BAC, United, Southwest Airlines and Costco. We apply deep expertise in the payments industry to provide solutions to assist clients with their key business priorities and drive incremental client and Visa revenue.

VPS collaborates with internal partners and outside agencies to deliver mutual value to clients and to Visa. The VPS team provides a comprehensive range of consulting services to deliver customized solutions that address unique challenges in areas such as marketing, strategic growth, customer experience, digital payments and risk.

The successful candidate will play an integral role on a team of experienced professionals delivering high impact projects across Visa’s North American US large issuer and co-brand merchant client portfolios. This role will provide a unique opportunity to gain experience in both the issuing and merchant client space. The intern will also have opportunities to engage and have direct interactions with Visa’s top 30 issuers and top merchants.

In addition, the intern will have the opportunity to partner with multiple internal functions to support implementation of client engagements and solutions. VPS teams work cross functionally across Sales, Client Integration, Innovation, Marketing/Sponsorship, Product, Visa Analytics, Risk, Research and others.

BAU activities will include data analysis and insight development to support card optimization programs, identification and compilation of consumer & industry insights to be shared with clients. The associate in this role will also lead and/or develop budgeting and tracking initiatives for the Large Client team including client project impact tool implementation, VPS transformation initiatives, time tracking activation, SalesForce Playbook integration, etc.

Project specific work will be designed to enable the intern to lead and manage a project to build and demonstrate marketing insight, project management and client engagement capabilities. Potential projects could include assessments of digital product and marketing strategies with recommendations, development of industry landscape evaluations and best practices, and analysis of data and insights to optimize client customer servicing processes.

Sample duties include:

o Analyze and interpret client and/or market data to deliver relevant, actionable recommendations to drive high impact strategic and tactical performance improvement

o Build toolkits and best practice documents and consulting approaches that may be leveraged and applied across the Large Client Partner Team

  • Develop mechanism for housing and accessing information and consulting engagement case studies to facilitate knowledge sharing among team members

o Structure and deliver discussion documents and presentations to illustrate analyses, findings, opportunities, client expertise/insights, recommendations

  • Assume project management responsibility for assigned projects and serve as the primary liaison with internal stakeholders for project updates

  • Partner with peers in other functional areas (e.g., marketing, analytics, risk, business development) and across global regions to execute projects in ways that leverage the breadth and depth of Visa’s resources
  • Collaborate across issuer teams to engage with clients (pitch and final delivery) and leverage analytics, products and marketing teams to leverage insights
  • Develop presentations for clients and internal Visa partners as needed

· Become integral member and contributor to overall VPS Large Client and Super Regional team

o As needed, support team of lead client consultants with on-going business process needs including contract development, budgeting, project results tracking and data analysis and other day-to-day ad hoc content requests

o Support the roll-out and become SME of new VPS processes including Salesforce, time tracking, and value tracking tool

o Support annual plan development, activation and metrics

Qualifications

We are looking for motivated individuals who will provide analysis and strategic thinking to shape the insights we deliver to clients, support consulting projects and develop actionable and scalable insights and solutions.

Specific requirements are:

· First year MBA students

- Excellent communication, story-telling and presentation skills

· Strong analytical skills, with the ability to process and summarize data into key strategic insights

· Ability to work on multi-part projects across teams and ensure project deadlines are met

· Initiative to self-manage when necessary and ability to multitask to support multiple efforts as needed

· Strong team player with a willingness to collaborate across levels and functional expert

· A background in payments, financial institutions or consumer lending a plus

· A high, self-defined standard of excellence and drive for continual improvement

· An affinity for payments technology and its future

· Excellent proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
