Global Merchant Sales and Solutions is a team dedicated to serving the needs of our merchant and acquiring partners. The Global Merchant Sales and Solutions team is focused on ensuring that Merchants prefer Visa. We want our clients to see Visa as a trusted strategic partner that delivers tangible value and is easy to do business with. Our actions are designed to protect and grow payment volume and revenue contributions while increasing the value merchants perceive and balancing the needs of all of our stakeholders.

Job Description

We are looking for an MBA intern to join our Merchant Client Account Management team. Responsibilities will include:

  • Driving positive merchant outcomes. Consultatively identifying and prioritizing merchant needs and crafting customized solutions that grow the merchants’ business and increase merchant satisfaction with Visa products/services
  • Managing merchant relationships. Be the single point of contact for the merchant. Provide a high degree of customer care with a pro-active, solutions-oriented mindset. Identify & foster strategic relationships within the merchant organization that will elevate partner discussions to focus on growth.
  • Identifying merchant investments. Identify merchant investment & partnership opportunities that will jointly benefit merchants and Visa. Assist in developing appropriate business cases and forecasts. Partner closely with merchant counterparts to gain alignment & buy-in from early stages.
  • Establishing strong internal partnerships. Establish fluency in all Visa merchant-facing solutions. Work cross functionally within Visa to drive projects forward. Articulate merchant needs and influence product/capability road maps by leveraging merchant feedback.
  • Being the analytical backbone to team. Develop deep understanding of merchant business both analytically and strategically. Provide ongoing planning & reporting needs for the team and merchant.

Qualifications

So what are we looking for in a Merchant Client Account Management MBA intern?

  • 1st year MBA students graduating December 2017 or later
  • Proven experience managing client relationships to deliver against client goals
  • Strong external business development background with product and / or marketing experience
  • Prior experience working with or for merchants, issuers, digital/mobile payments or loyalty a plus
  • Ability to communicate complex technical or financial concepts to a broad audience
  • Deeply analytical with great attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally
