Job Description

The Data Center Engineering & Operations (DCE&O) Hardware Team is responsible for the planning, receipt, management of installation, management of maintenance, and decommission of Mainframe and Storage equipment.

Jr Tech Support Analyst will assist team in all aspects of managing the Mainframe and SAN Storage environments from a physical hardware perspective, as well as helping in the migration to a new DCIM solution. ​

Responsibilities would include:

-Assisting the Hardware Team with planning and implementing changes, installs, and upgrades to IBM Mainframe computers, EMC/Hitachi Data Systems Storage, Brocade/Cisco switches and directors, and Oracle/IBM tape products.

-Infrastructure cabling (fiber and copper), Infrastructure planning, and management of equipment repair by Vendors.

-Communicate with Mainframe Engineering Group to assist in planning and deployment of new equipment.


Qualifications

 ​Background or study of IBM Mainframe environment and SAN/networking environments. An interest in the “physical” aspect of a data center is important, including equipment and devices, SAN/Network cabling infrastructure, and power infrastructure. Experience not needed, but strong communications skills and a willingness to work with experienced professionals is required.
