Job Description

Position Summary


As part of the Visa Risk and Authentication Products team, the Sr. Director will design and architect emerging products and technologies in support of Visa programs. This person will develop and maintain standards and specifications for payment technologies that include, but are not limited to, biometrics, e-commerce, QR Codes for payments, contact chip products, contactless chip products, and mobile products.


 


The Sr. Director will develop standards and specifications by working collaboratively in cross-functional teams and by participating in external industry standards bodies and business alliances. In this role, the Sr. Director must be able to establish standards with competitors while maintaining Visa's business interests and delivering solutions on scheduled timelines.


 


Responsibilities


·         


Develop and draft standards and specifications for emerging payment products and technologies.


·         


Maintain and update standards and specifications for existing payment products and technologies. This includes, but is not limited to, contact chip, contactless chip, mobile, and biometrics.


·         


Work closely with product business owners to turn business requirements into product standards and specifications.


·         


Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on the standards and technologies which they architect and/or maintain.


·         


Represent Visa as an SME in external industry standards bodies, such as EMVCo and FIDO.


·         


Viewed as an expert on chip and product payment technologies, with broad knowledge of related technology areas.


·         


Collaborate with other specifications SMEs in development of new standards and become proficient with the other standards and specifications maintained by the group to assist in supporting users of the specifications.

Qualifications



  • ·         


    Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or related technical field required; Masters degree preferred


    ·         


    10-15 years of experience required


    ·         


    Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Able to explain complex technical concepts in an easy to understand manner. Ability to effectively communicate technical and business issues and solutions to multiple organizational levels.


    ·         


    Previous experience architecting standards and specifications is preferred.


    ·         


    Knowledge of chip card standards, protocols, and specifications: EMV, ISO 7816, ISO 14443, GlobalPlatform.


    ·         


    Knowledge of EMV and Visa standards and specifications is preferred: EMV, EMV Contactless, CPA, VIS, VCPS.


    ·         


    Knowledge of mobile handset architecture and mobile proximity payment technologies is preferred, such as BLE, Near Field Communications (NFC) and Host Card Emulation (HCE).


    ·         


    Knowledge of payment systems architecture and infrastructure.


    ·         


    Knowledge of the following is preferred: 3D Secure, VisaNet Integrated Processing.


    ·         


    Occasional domestic and international travel required (as needed, up to 20%).
