Job Description

The Visa Performance Solutions team is focused on improving our clients' profitability and performance through deep specialization in product, marketing, tailored consulting, automated solutions and unique insights leveraging Visa payment processing data that support the growth and performance of clients' business.

Within VPS, the Strategic Advisory team is responsible for developing leading-edge consulting solutions that address key strategic needs for our clients across North America. This team drives tangible, impactful and financial results for Visa clients using industry expertise, Visa's technology capabilities and a proven profitability modeling platform that enables the quantification of value created.

What will I work on in Strategic Advisory? We have exciting opportunities for you here in our Bay Area offices as we grow our Strategic Advisory group. This role is unique in that you will be helping to build new cutting edge consulting capabilities in our strategic consulting practice. Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Developing new and highly impactful consulting offerings by assessing client needs, building on Visa capabilities, and piloting solutions with clients.

  • Leading a consulting team on projects, potentially in multiple markets across North America, to deliver high impact and differentiating services to Visa clients.

  • Building business cases and strategies for key client questions such as "should I enter a new market segment" or "should I launch a new product"?

  • Partnering across Visa in cross-functional (e.g., marketing, analytics, risk, business development) and across regional teams to ensure that newly developed solutions take advantage of the best in Visa capabilities.

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with industry and client leaders.

  • Scanning the market for new innovations, cutting edge techniques, and for potential partners.

Qualifications

What is Strategic Advisory looking for in a Director? We are looking for experienced, pro-active, high-achieving professionals with a passion for client service. Specific requirements include:

  • BA/BS required; MBA required.

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressively more responsible business experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, credit card management, or related field.

  • Multi-functional project management and strategy development skills and success experiences;
    ability to manage teams and deliverables and to coordinate, work productively with, and demonstrate results to other Visa divisions, member banks, merchants, application providers and potential alliance partners.

  • Flexible and creative thinker with the ability to define business tradeoffs, generate out-of-the-box solutions and manage uncertainty.

  • Ability to lead and mentor associate talent and influence decisions of others, including senior management.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, story-telling, and presentation skills (including through use of PowerPoint and Excel); listening skills; executive presence.

  • Willingness to travel 30-50%, domestic assignments.
