Description
 
The Account Level Management platform is a processing platform that provides services for segmenting client portfolios, processing issuer submitted data, spend assessment calculations, and card fee billing to support many of Visa's premium card products. This group works with different internal stakeholders including Product Office, Account Execs, Client Support, Pricing, Analytics, Technology and many others.
 
The Lead, ALM Analytics will be a critical member of the team and will have responsibilities for leading the blueprinting, maintaining and enhancing the ALM Analytics Environment and performing analysis on client file processing and spend assessment results to reduce risk, ensure system accuracy and improve transparency and uncover potential problems upfront.  The Lead will leverage knowledge of big data, database and cutting edge data mining techniques as well as modeling and segmentation.  Based on findings from technical data analysis, s/he will draw insights and make actionable recommendations that reflect the client's business and context.
 
The position will be based at Visa's headquarters in Foster City, California.
 

Responsibilities

  • System accuracy KPIs design and development and deployment
  • Development of a strategic analytics vision aligned to business goals in the respective markets and executing with precision
  • Translate business problems into an appropriate analytical framework and generating insights
  • Execute on the analytic plan with appropriate data mining and analytic techniques
  • Manage multiple analytics requests and priorities at the same time
  • Work with senior leaders and business partners to understand critical business problems and areas of opportunity, influence to implement recommendations
  • Manage and execute projects independently from end-to-end; work with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams to deliver on these projects
  • Foster analytic competency to support and increasingly guide fact-based and timely decision-making
  • Be an SME and thought leader on analytics and ALM, enhancing ALM analytic capabilities, with a strong understanding of visa process
  • Be an advocate for analytics inside and outside Visa
  • Identify and respond to analytics / data trends and opportunities
  • Champion the use of data-driven decision-making
  • Potential Team management
  • Exposure or experiences to BI tools to capture opportunities to create and automate repeatable analyses or build self-service tools

Primary Technical Skills:

  • Strong data science background and well-versed in different machine learning methodologies to be able to explore and recommend best analytical solutions to critical business needs
  • Superior analytical and problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
  • Experience with creating complicated queries in common database (DB2, HBase, others)
  • Real world experience using Hadoop and the related query engines (Hive / Impala).
  • Proficiency with SAS as a statistical package
  • Unix proficiency is must

Secondary Technical Skills:

  • Exposures to reporting tools like Tableau, Microstrategy, excel VBA, and any other BI tools is a plus
  • Experience programming in Python and Spark is a plus
  • Experiences with open-source analytics packages is a plus

Experience:

  • 10+ years of business experience, with a minimum of 5 years involved with analytics, preferably with banking / payments industry
  • Prefer to have a deep understanding of card / payment business
  • Strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize and organize data/information into actionable recommendations with clear customer and shareholder impact
  • Must be team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, with excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and written communication
  • Experience managing teams
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience of actually hands-on executing analysis involving large volume of data using common analytical/statistical software in relevant settings such as analytics, business consulting, or other data-driven functions
  • Experiences with monitoring production system to detect and investigate anomalies under tight time frame
  • Preferred to have Post Graduate degree in quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Operational Research, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering or equivalent experience
