The Commercial Product Development team is a part of Visa's Data Product Development organization and is responsible for designing, developing and managing 20+ applications and services for Visa's Commercial line of products. Our range of products include data processing platforms, BI reporting and data mining solutions, B2B payments processing platforms, etc. This role will work closely with business managers to understand key business objectives and use these to evolve the domain architecture and roadmap based upon strategic business and operating models. This includes collaboration with product managers, enterprise architects, and solution architects to develop new product offerings and improve the existing ones.

Responsibilities:

• Establish architectural and technical standards and processes, ensure adherence to them through governance. Provide Architectural leadership and vision for Commercial application solutions. Develop and maintain architectural roadmap for applications and systems within the Commercial domain and ensuring alignment with the business and Data organization architecture strategies and standards.
• Develop strategies to meet business objectives with existing or emerging technologies. Ability to translate business concepts to technical terms. Understands and communicates company goals and objectives.
• Work on highly complex issues with broad technical or strategic implications for the organization. Work often involves nonrecurring research of a universal nature.
• Collaborate with the Business Owners, other Technology groups and software vendors to identify and define solutions for complex, global business requirements
• Apply creative thinking/approach to determine technical solutions that further Business Goals and align with corporate Technology Strategies, keeping in mind reliability, security, flexibility, and cost.
• Keep abreast of evolving technologies and anticipate technological evolutions that could be leveraged to enhance current architectures. Identify, evaluate and utilize appropriate technology solutions to meet business and technology challenges, guide product development teams through their implementation
• Liaise with solutions architects to develop design standards
• Produce models and code to demonstrate artifacts, principles, frameworks and strategy
• Develop and guide the implementation of business aligned technology strategic plans

• Experienced technology leader with a minimum of 15+ years of software development experience with deep technology expertise.
• Experience in architecture and design of distributed, highly scalable, highly available systems
• Extensive hands on design/coding experience/skills using Java, J2EE, C++, C# and/or .NET with elegant coding abilities and ability to develop solid prototypes or core components quickly.
• Experience and expertise with Big data and cloud computing technologies including Hadoop, Spark, Hive, etc.
• Familiar with Database, ETL and Business Intelligence technologies like Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, etc.
• Experience with Web Services (REST/ SOAP)
• Excellent knowledge of architecture methodologies and modeling
• Excellent communication skills, with proven ability to present complex ideas to multiple levels
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Strong facilitation and analytic skills with an open mind
• Experience with electronic payment and financial services
• Prior Visa and/or payments industry experience is a plus
• BS in Computer Science, or Information Systems required, MS preferred
