Job Description

We are seeking a Director of Software Development who will identify, hire and build a world-class development team to define, drive and execute the Visa Online vision. Director will be closely working with Business Groups to understand and elaborate requirements. Director will drive the development and integration efforts and work with technical program managers to facilitate use cases, sizing efforts, and timelines. Director will initiate processes that allow the team to collaborate with local as well as global teams with a high degree of efficiency. Director will lead a team of highly motivated and talented individuals that can collaborate with Technical Program Managers, Product Managers and SMEs across the company on high impact Visa Online initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage our application development team in Austin
  • Deliver secure coding solutions using the latest industry standards and tools
  • Design highly available, scalable and performant solutions
  • Deliver high quality coding solutions, including QA automation
  • Solutions provide excellent user experience
  • Ensure that the solution is delivered on time, with quality and meeting requirements
  • Ability to work on requirements and solutions in a phased manner, with business partners
  • Keep senior management informed of progress and any obstacles impeding the successful implementation of projects and other departmental activities thru status reports, presentations, etc.
  • Handle routine daily activities such as logistics, coordination, coaching, mentoring, recruiting, planning, delivery, quality, customer/vendor relationships, performance metrics, operations, efficiency and other services
  • Mentor and lead other members of the department in development best practices.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required. MS or other related advanced degree preferred
  • Requires 12+ years of experience, at least 3 years of which were in leading application development teams
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with building highly scalable identity and access management systems.
  • Experience seamlessly integrating systems onto the existing platform
  • Proven experience in architecting and delivering global, large-scale infrastructure applications; overseeing data architecture, development and systems integration; and aligning complex business problems to appropriate technology solutions that deliver strong returns on investment
  • Extensive technical experience with developing application on full stack of HTTP, JSON, REST, SOAP, Angular JS, MVC & .NET frameworks
  • Experience building access management solutions working in conjunction with some of the major access management players like SiteMinder, ForgeRock, Ping Identity,Okta a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively work with all stakeholders to improve data and business processes and to negotiate priorities
  • Agile delivery experience is a major plus
