Job Description

The O&I Quality & Efficiency Team helps develop and establish multi-year financial efficiency programs that optimize the value of Operations & Infrastructure (O&I) Investments. This Team includes IT Cost Management, IT Asset Management and Cost modeling.

The Director of O&I Efficiency, Cost Management will help develop and establish multi-year financial efficiency programs, manage the forecast for the O&I organization and expand the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) Cost Model. This role will also be responsible for taking the global O&I budget, breaking it down into services and identifying opportunities for improvement to the capital and OPEX budget. This position will lead a team of business analysts that establishes efficiency programs that require in-depth understanding of the business, strategic direction, organizational structure, demand drivers, and key vendor partnerships. 


Job Scope

  • Manage a team of 7 to 10 Business Analysts who manage all of the financial workings for one or more technology product domains such as open systems compute, open systems storage, software, network infrastructure or mainframe infrastructure

  • Provide thought leadership for team around report development and data modeling to make informed decisions and provide a holistic view of costs and consumption to their product owners

  • Provide active leadership to team around collecting, developing, and analyzing multiple concurrent business requirements and transfer the same knowledge to product owners, senior management by creating compelling business cases, writing approval documents for both new products and support to existing products

  • Create and secure approvals for the O&I Capital and OPEX budget. Provide direction to execute within the plan. Review and track performance with respect to budget and quarterly forecasts.

  • Work with product owners to create a unified view for each product/service within their domain. The Unified View will include an understanding of Total Cost of Ownership, a bottom's up view of asset footprint, Long Term Architecture, Operational View/Metrics, Client Satisfaction, primary demand drivers, capacity targets, Key Initiatives & Proof of concepts

  • Communicate with internal sourcing, finance, project management, infrastructure delivery and ITFM teams to coordinate process touch points, gather feedback, gain approvals and resolve product financial issues

  • Recommend effective solutions to highly complicated business and technical issues

  • Lead annual benchmark engagement. Leverage the benchmark indices and technology strategy to improve performance of product areas

  • Lead other high priority strategic initiatives to promote good stewardship of Total Cost of Ownership for infrastructure products and services

  • Support the O&I evolution to an "as a service" type organization by creating the required financial discipline for product owners

  • Help the business understand the value proposition for infrastructure from a price and performance aspect

Qualifications

  • Must have 8 - 10 years of relevant experience

  • Must have technical background to understand the key infrastructure products and understand the core concepts behind "running IT like a business"

  • Must have strong quantitative skills and experience taking raw data and drawing actionable insights from it

  • Must have experience with SQL Server and the ability to write out their own SQL statements to pull data from multiple sources

  • Must have prior experience leading a project or team of analysts or developers

  • Must have prior experience in creating cost transparency and cost clarity programs for    CIO/CTO office

  • Must have demonstrated capability in working with large virtual teams

  • Ability to conduct research such as market size and trends, competitive analysis

  • Ability to collect and analyze relevant quantitative and qualitative data sets

  • Strong communication skills including written, oral, and presentation abilities

  • Extremely comfortable with Excel, MS Access and Analytics tools such as Tableau

  • Demonstrated project management skills, including ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and follow through on completion of high-profile projects

  • Proven critical thinking and problem solving skills

  • Must be comfortable with ambiguity and fast change with an ability to adapt quickly and easily.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Economics, Statistics or related field

  • An MBA degree is preferred
