Job Description

As a Software Engineering Intern you will contribute to a team that develops and manages end-to-end technology solutions for Visas core business (credit and debit transactions) and key stakeholders as well as new solutions that promote the growth of digital commerce and mobilization.

Some things you might work on as Software Engineering intern are:

  • Analyze, conceptualize the high-level solution, and document the business requirements.
  • Engage in the design and development of user requirements
  • Test and certify features for release
  • System Integration Testing process
  • Implement test code within a best-fit automation framework
  • Participate in cross-group and internal customer feature demos
  • Participate in root cause analysis and track defect resolution to completion
  • Work with colleagues on QA Turnover process
  • Respond to and handle support issues arising from the implementation.
  • Develop tools to monitor external applications
  • Provide technical support to the team
  • Work closely with business and product groups including customer support, release engineering to resolve issues.
  • Involve in social media platform.
  • Strong knowledge of the software development life cycle require.
  • Ability to develop code that follows established coding guidelines in a waterfall or SCRUM environment.
  • Multitasking between designs, development and defect resolution as well as between projects.
  • Design, develop, document and implement new functionality, as well as enhancements, modifications, and corrections to existing software.
  • Build and maintain relationships with global and virtual teams on software development or support issues.
  • Work as part of a development team and establish close working relationships with stake holders, quality assurance, architects, as well as management

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in at least one programming language or technology including, but not limited, to: Java, C/C++, C#, .NET, Python, Javascript, HTML, CSS, SQL, Oracle, Objective-C, J2EE, JSTL, EJB,DTD, XSD, WSDL, Spring, JSP, RMI, XML, DTD, XSD, JNDI, REST, Groovy, Backbone, Tomat, LINUX/UNIX, .NET 3.5 - 4.5+, TFS and Android.
  • Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems: 2003, 2008, 2012 and x86 hardware
  • Knowledge of UNIX Operating Systems: RedHat 5/6. Solaris 8/10, AIX 6 and the respective hardware.
  • Fundamental IP network knowledge.
  • Well-versed in MS Excel and knowing how to use function(s) such as V-Look Up.
  • Ability to take on challenges and address problems head-on
  • Strong ability to collaborate
  • Highly driven and resourceful
