Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Portfolio Management, this position will be responsible for high visibility initiatives focused on executive-level portfolio reporting, metrics, and analytics, business and financial planning, and tools administration that help support strategic goals, reduce time to market and deliver value. Additionally, the position has responsibility for leading a number of different internal and process improvement initiatives across the organization, focused on people, process, and tools initiatives.
 
This position interacts with a wide range of stakeholders across DMPD and also with cross-functional functions, including Technology Business Management, Product, Human Resources, Finance, as well as senior leadership.
 
Key responsibilities and deliverables for this role will include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead efforts to streamline portfolio and project financial reporting efforts including defining key reporting components, establishing executive-level summaries and overviews of investments, and ensuring reporting accuracy and quality assurance
  • Drive definition and creation of various executive reporting, dashboards, and operational metrics focusing on continuous improvement and evolution to maximize decision-making and executive visibility. Develop KPIs, dashboards, and other program health tracking mechanisms to provide visibility to key stakeholders on large-scale programs. This will include working with key stakeholders to define key performance measures, driving program analytics, and supporting broader program management efforts
  • Evaluate systems integration between financial systems and project portfolio management systems to optimize reporting throughput and maximize efficiencies
  • Assist with monthly/quarterly forecasting activities on behalf of the Portfolio & Business Management team
  • Support workforce planning and vendor management initiatives to ensure DMPD is strategically resourced to meet demand - This includes data collection, analysis, presentation summaries, and project management support


 


 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
  • Minimum of five years of proven experience in business analytics, reporting, and data visualization
  • Experience in managing technically complex, cross-organizational, multi-stakeholder internal and process improvement initiatives
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Word, Visio and SharePoint, and Tableau (or a similar dashboarding tool)
  • Knowledge of reporting systems such as SQL, Microsoft Access and Business Intelligence / centralized reporting systems (e.g. OBIEE)
  • Working knowledge of financial systems such as Hyperion or SAP
  • Financial budget and forecasting experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with an attention to detail. In particular, a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical and business issues and solutions to multiple organizational levels, capable of summarizing and communicating key financial information and business strategy at an executive level
  • Ability to work independently with strong time management and ability to execute on multiple concurrent deliverables
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to think strategically
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, assignments, and roles
  • Strong process orientation and a solid understanding of project management & process improvement techniques, methodologies, and best practices
  • PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or similar certification preferred
  • Experience in the Payments and/or Technology industry a major plus
  • Ability to manage through influence, but without direct management authority. Use capabilities to influence customers and stakeholders, and properly manage divergent expectations
