Job Description
Visa's Marketing Systems Platform team is looking for a passionate
technologist to manage 8-12 engineers in support of their Visa.com marketing
technologies. They are looking for a hands on builder who will work with cross
functional teams spanning multiple product and technology disciplines (Java/AEM
and some .Net). Successful candidates will be highly adaptable, possess strong
interpersonal and organizational skills and able to effectively manage multiple
work streams. They will work closely with Visa's marketing and user experience
organizations to build the systems that not only help expand Visa's business
externally on Visa.com but also increase internal employee effectiveness through
their Corporate intranet. The ideal candidate for this position will have more
than 12 years of combined experience as a software engineering with at least 3
years directly managing engineering teams. This is a great opportunity to make a

productivity and position Visa to be in a perpetual hackathon model.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a strong
relationship and partnership with Branding and Marketing leads providing proper
technology services, and strategic advice - Development and enhancements of Visa’s systems that
support branding and marketing operations for Visa.com utilizing Java and
AEM - Drive and support the technology portion of Branding and
Marketing business roadmaps, goals and initiatives - Management of development functions including business
requirements elaboration, systems analysis, design, configuration,
customization, integration, quality assurance and implementation - Management of maintenance functions including incident
management, problem management, application monitoring, tuning and minor
enhancements - Managing 8-12 engineering resources, including direct
staff and vendors - Working with limited direction, usually within a complex
environment, to drive delivery of solutions and meet service levels - Interacting regularly with senior and executive business
and IT management - Translate broad strategies into specific project
objectives and action plans - Provide recommendations to management based on best
practices and experience working in a global and diverse environment - Communicate effectively and proactively with all levels
of management and articulate ideas and recommendations clearly - Management of development functions including business
requirements elaboration, systems and process flow analysis, meeting critical
milestones and deliverables that are time and scope boxed - Heavy collaboration across business and technology
organization, providing sound business analysis, process and change leadership
within a an Agile framework - Provide thought leadership and recommendations to
management based on best practices and experience working in a global and
diverse environment - Communicate effectively and proactively with management
ideas and recommendations for optimizing business operations, resources and
fixed capacity - Role will report to a Senior Director of
Engineering
Qualifications
- More than 12 years of relevant experience
(e.g., software development/engineering delivery, development and package
implementation, delivery and design) managing cross-functional teams - Educational background in Computer
Science/Engineering is required - Adobe CQ/AEM based Web Content Management and
Digital Asset Management System Development and Deployment is
preferred - Minimum 7 years as a hands on software
engineer building web based systems and services using open source and Java
based technologies - Strong ability to manage application vendors
and service providers and hold them accountable for deliverables - Domain expertise in managing and supporting
enterprise class systems; overseeing software architecture, development and
systems integration; and aligning complex business problems to appropriate
technology solutions that deliver strong returns on investment - Recent experience in managing an organization
with demonstrated ability to direct staff, consultants and/or offshore resources
at any given time - Proven track record of hiring and managing
top talent, including software engineers - Demonstrated consistent and steady growth in
career - Budgeting and forecasting experience managing
a multi-million USD project portfolio - Familiarity with agile/SCRUM development
methodologies and software development lifecycle principles - High degree of business acumen and technical
competency; ability to balance and bridge technology and business needs; project
and program management - Ability to lead through organizational change
and ambiguity - Reputation for being a collaborative thought
partner and business leader, skilled at establishing formal and informal
networks within the company - Superior verbal, written and interpersonal
communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences - Experience in working with agile lifecycle
and/or tracking and process management tools, e.g. Rally, JIRA
