Job Description

The Head of Global Mobility will be a key member of the Global Operations team. As leader of the team of Global Mobility Specialists and Immigration Program Managers, this person will design and lead Visa’s global mobility strategy for current employees, as well as candidates. Creative programs and thorough communications that enable the strategy are required to ensure a positive experience for the 2,200+ US and global immigration cases, and 1,000+ relocations and 60+ assignments annually.

Success will also be defined by extremely methodical and collaborative partnerships with all key stakeholders (Employees, Hiring Leaders, Vendors, Talent Acquisition, Finance, HR Leadership Team, Total Rewards and Legal) locally and around the globe.

What you’ll do:
 
 - Lead design of global strategy for relocation, tax and immigration, including program and policy design, execution and assessment; Develop creative solutions to meet immediate and long term business objectives
 - Lead and organize a global team to implement and administer highly impactful immigration and relocation programs
 - Update the global mobility policy and program guidelines ensuring industry competitiveness and compliance with legal, tax, and local employment regulations
 - Ensure continual assessment of all global mobility vendors, processes and policies to ensure an optimal experience for employees, managers and the Global Mobility team
 - Provide strategic global mobility-related expertise to HR Business Partners, Talent Selection Partners, HR team members and business units
 - Provide structure for HR and the business (HR Managers, Recruiting team, managers and employees) to learn about global mobility programs and policies and where to find guidance and support for immigration and relocation
 - Ensure escalations from candidates, employees and managers are resolved
 - Lead team in development of marketing materials and communication plans to promote global mobility as a key part of the company’s talent strategy

Relocation and Tax programs:
 
 - Ensure tax program is effectively advising home and host country tax filing obligations for the assignees.
 - Work with master relocation partner and payroll to administer reimbursements for processes related to International assignments, tax payments and any escalated issues.
 - Coordinate annual foreign tax preparation with tax vendor and international assignees, process hypo tax calculations and miscellaneous allowances or payments with external tax consultants
 - Preparation of all domestic and international transfer and assignment letters of both short and long term durations.
 - Vendor coordination for preparation of balance sheets, assignment letters, cost projections, and year end statements

Immigration programs:
 
 - Set guidelines to coordinate processing and communication of immigration applications, work visas and permits, and process visa extensions with outside legal counsel, immigration partners and employees/applications as necessary.
  - Ensure maintenance of internal documentation as required to ensure compliance with necessary immigration initiations and case extensions. This will include maintaining LCA Public Access Files
 - Liaise and work closely with the PERM Team, assist in monitoring and supporting their employee cases, answer escalated case issues and assist in facilitation of any necessary trainings.

Qualifications

What you need to succeed:

 - 8-10+ years of Global Mobility experience with a leading technology company.
 - 5+ years hands-on experience managing global relocation and immigration programs with a strong focus on vendor management for a multi-national company
 - Ability to provide guidance and recommendations for scaling the Global Mobility programs
 - Knowledge and experience working with H1B and L1 visa processes and country work permits
 - Knowledge and experience with the employment-based US permanent residence process
 - Knowledge and experience working with tax, legal, compensation and immigration issues
 - Ability to operate and influence in a highly matrixed and flexible environment.
 - Ability to leverage Global Mobility knowledge to influence talent strategy related to organizational and leadership development.
 - Strong customer service orientation and vendor management skills
 - Excellent organization and communication skills with great attention to detail, while focusing on stringent deadlines, managing concurrent high priority initiatives
 - Ability to work on assignments that are complex in nature, requiring judgment in resolving issues or making recommendations
 - Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
 - Strong project management skills
 - Very strong facilitations skills and ability to present to a wide array of audiences to inspire action.
 - Completed Bachelor’s degree
 - GMS or CRP Certifications desired, but not required
