Job Description

This role is responsible for ensuring Visa's success by developing and maintaining scalable Application Performance Management (APM) tools based on Riverbed Steel Central solution. In this position, you will be responsible for day-to-day operations, pro-active maintenance, making APM tools security compliant, managing users, serving as a technical specialist and working independently with guidance only in the most complex situations. You will ensure the most effective and efficient utilization of APM tool resources and have focus on expanding those tools usage across the enterprise. As the ideal candidate, you will have a deep technical understanding of all aspects of APM tools administration, distributed systems application architecture and scripting skills.


 


RESPONSIBILITIES


You will:


  • Responsible for the ongoing maintenance, security, and availability of Riverbed Opnet APM tool
  • Systems infrastructure adhering to tight operations, security, and procedural models 
  • Responsible for instrumenting Riverbed AIX APM tools for various applications 
  • Responsible for instrumenting Riverbed ARX tool for various applications 
  • Demonstrate a high level of technical expertise to support complex APM tools implementation across all tiers, under minimal supervision 
  • Function in complex, highly-secure, highly-available, operations-centric datacenter environments and interact with other technology domain experts as required 
  • Assist in change management processes for supporting APM tools infrastructure 
  • Respond to and resolve incident and problem tickets and general enquiries related to APM tools 
  • Document and maintain APM tools architecture, system configurations across platforms 
  • Work closely with vendor support team to resolve incidents, take necessary steps for permanent resolutions 
  • Provide automation solutions of manual tasks performed   
  • Support the development and incorporation of best practices and approaches into the company´s processes and methodologies 
  • Work closely with areas across Visa including, Operations, Engineering, Service Product office, and Global Open System Development Lines

Qualifications

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience in installation, upgrades, security remediation of Riverbed tools – AIX/ARX/PTW and BMX 
  • 5+ Years of Unix/Windows Systems Administration experience in relevant technologies 
  • Experience on JVM/.Net APM tools instrumentation 
  • Working knowledge with TCP/IP, network packet analysis 
  • Experience working in large, complex, enterprise datacenter environments 
  • Excellent scripting skills against UNIX/Windows: Shell, Perl, Power CLI/windows batch 
  • Comprehensive understanding of Java / .Net application architecture and technology stack 
  • Experience with Oracle / SQL server /MySQL DB technology 
  • Experience with LAN/WAN, routers, switches 
  • Working knowledge in using APM tools for troubleshooting 
  • Preferred Blade Logic experience

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Computer science or engineering degree 
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of relevant working experience 
  • Broad knowledge in hardware, software, network and applications deployments 
  • Strong ability to self-learn new APM tools and solving performance problems 
  • Strong project, organizational, presentation, multi-task and writing skills
