Job Description

In the Staff Systems Engineering role, you will be working with a small team to develop and modify internal web-based applications with assistance from Senior and Lead Application Development teams, and will be responsible for the full application development life cycle support, including specifications, prototypes, development, quality assurance and deployment. 

We will expect you to communicate effectively with internal users as needed to support channel integration, development and support, and will be responsible for providing appropriate documentation.  As a staff-level individual contributor, you will be leading a small team of developers located in Asia, and you'll be responsible for coordinating the work activities of that Asia-based staff to ensure quality productivity from this staff.

Qualifications

Requirements to be considered for this position:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or related year-for-year experience
  • 1-2 years of application developer/software engineer experience
  • 1-2 years of Git and Stash experience
  • 1-2 years of experience with Ruby on Rails development 
  • 1-2 years of experience with Java development
  • 2-3 years of experience developing, deploying, and supporting web-based applications 
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Ajax, jQuery 
  • Experience with UI frameworks such as Bootstrap & Angular JS 
  • Experience with MySQL database design and development 
  • Experience with creating and consuming Rest and SOAP Services 

Nice to Have: 


  • Experience using Jira for tracking issues through the lifecycle of the issue 
  • Experience with Agile/SCRUM development 
  • Basic understanding of automating provisioning tasks
