Job Description

Program Manager within Visa Commerce Solutions team is responsible for managing and supporting Cross Product development and business operations for various Programs and Platforms. Candidate will be responsible for supporting the business operational needs for Visa Loyalty Platform Services (VLPS) product. This position requires experience in operations support, business requirements development, extensive project management skills and exposure to VisaNet/payment systems. The Program manager must be self-motivated, able to communicate effectively across functional and hierarchical lines, to complete analysis and support functions of their projects, and have some technical background.

The role will require extensive interaction across multiple cross-functional areas, such as Visa Operations, Development, Account Management, Implementation, Call Center, Product and Sales. This candidate will work closely with the development managers and business office staff, providing business operation information and expertise. The role may also include working as a liaison between the vendor and product/program owner when applicable. This includes escalation support, program expertise, research and analysis for production issues, and overall program operational performance from a business perspective. The position is based at Visa’s offices in Foster City, CA.

The position requires the ability to use prior program management experience to create and implement processes by assessing a broad set of technical and cross-functional interdependencies. The ability to analyze both quantitative and qualitative issues and opportunities in parallel, synthesize this information into key points and priorities, and make recommendations to management will be key to driving this operational excellence.

Ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree and a minimum 3 years financial services industry exposure with a technology focus.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Program administration and consultation for VLPS programs in US and Asia Pacific regions.
  • Operational process management and escalation – internally and 3rd party vendor operational counterparts when applicable
  • Program/Platform production issue escalation process development and oversight using Visa Service Desk as system of record.
  • Issue management and communication to internal support teams such as client management team
    and business owners
  • SLA consultation, development, oversight and management
  • Development support from operational perspective including UAT input, review, and assistance.
  • Subject Matter Expertise to the operations of the program.

Qualifications

  • Outstanding writing skills to communicate complex concepts to a broad audience with strong skills in Microsoft PowerPoint, Project, Word, Excel and Access
  • Experience with SQL statements and reporting solutions a plus
  • Proven ability to service and support a range of internal and external customers, often in parallel and within a shifting set of priorities.
  • 5-7+ years of proven successful experience proactively driving results that exceed objectives with little managerial oversight.
  • Broad and in-depth knowledge and experience in project management. Strong process orientation; solid understanding of project management techniques, methodologies and best practices.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority to achieve necessary goals.
  • Ability to define business requirements in support of development
  • Remain mindful of the financial impact of operational decisions.
  • Provide input and participate in the development of program enhancements by supporting projects from an operational perspective
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Minimum 3 years project management experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of/experience with Visa business.
