Job Description

The global systems engineering group is responsible for engineering and support of the IT infrastructure for Visa Inc. and VisaNet. This includes planning, design, evaluation, installation, deployment, and maintenance of the IT infrastructure for the data centers and office facilities.

Job Scope: 
This role is a recognized expert within Visa responsible for contributing to the development of functional strategy. This is an individual contributor role responsible for solving unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business.

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide technical guidance to internal contacts in the design of infrastructure solutions that meet business needs and perform to engineered specifications.
  • Manage the delivery of solutions to operations either as an individual contributor or leader of small team as each project dictates.
  • Construct and implement infrastructure based on business requirements and adhering to tight operations, security, and procedural models.
  • Able to operate in complex, highly-secure, and highly-available, operations environments and interact with the technology domain experts required to maintain those environments.
  • Develop and incorporate best practices and approaches into the company�s project processes and methodologies.
  • Develop and position solutions and build plans to effectively gain buy-in from all participants.
  • Work with other Engineering Disciplines to develop solutions that can be offered as services to our customers.
  • Provide recommendations to management team to increase effectiveness of organization and technology solutions.
  • Qualifications

  • Requires a minimum of 8-10 years progressively responsible experience
  • Expert knowledge in Windows hardware, software, and applications deployments
  • Hands on Citrix experience (i.e support, installation and architecture)
  • MCSE or equivalent work experience
  • Automation and scripting experience preferred
  • Extensive networking background preferred
  • Experience deploying and maintaining highly-available and highly-secure Windows based servers and applications in a highly-available and highly-secure data center environment
  • Hands on VMWare (i.e. support, installation, and architecture)
  • Scripting toolset experience and understanding
  • Ability to conduct operational acceptance turnover meetings
  • Ability to write technical design and build documentations for all aspects of a technical infrastructure
  • Ability to integrate content from other domain areas and construct final technical design documents
  • Experience in an application hosting or data center environment.
  • Experience with maintaining highly available and highly secure systems.
  • Ability to write technical design and build documentations for all aspects of a technical infrastructure.
  • Ability to represent technical and business issues and solutions to multiple levels internally and externally to support strategic organizational plans.
  • Individual should be extremely self-motivated with the ability to work independently, coordinating activities within cross-divisional and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and leadership skills along with effective communication (both written and verbal) skills.
  • Exhibit advanced planning, organizational and problem solving skills
  • Experience leading projects from development through implementation.
  • Demonstrate ability to work in a complex organization to determine business and customer needs, providing the best solution to meet those needs.
  • Experience in consulting to external or internal organizations a plus.
  • ITIL certification preferred.
