Job Description

The candidate will be responsible for managing a global team of professional system administrators supporting the Distributed Systems Operations server infrastructure. The candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day functions of the 24x7x365 operations team and will be required to ensure proper change management and incident escalations processes are defined, followed within the ITIL framework. This includes ensuring the team maintains audit compliance and delivers on corporate/departmental goals and metrics. This candidate will serve as the interface with internal teams (Platform Engineering, Service Desk, Network, Storage Operations, etc.) as well as internal and external customers (Visa's Customer Service Center, etc.) and will additionally be responsible for participating in service improvement efforts across various platforms and functions.

  • Participate in infrastructure operations planning and service improvement lifecycle
  • Responsible for leading and delivery of enterprise initiatives

  • Provide forecasting for resource and budgetary needs

  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field is preferred
  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience directly related to Unix, Hypervisor and mixed OS based systems support, to include hardware and peripherals
  • 5+ Years of previous management experience
  • Experience supporting a 24x7 Operational environment
  • Working experience with infrastructure components (LAN/WAN/TCP IP)
  • Working knowledge of Cloud / Hyper-V / KVM / Windows / Linux / SDS / SAN / NAS / Brocade / VMWare etc
  • Working knowledge of Vulnerability security resolution, CVE and risk mitigation
  • Track record of on-time, within scope, high quality implementations
  • Self-motivated with the ability to exercise independent judgment with minimal direction from supervisor
  • Ability to coordinate activities within cross-divisional and cross-functional teams
  • Strong supervisor qualities and organizational skills with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and assignments
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; in particular, demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical and business issues and solutions to multiple organizational levels internally and externally
  • Strong understanding of process orientation, understanding of project management techniques, methodologies and best practices
  • Candidate must have demonstrated and be prepared to exhibit initiative and ownership of project success
  • Ability to set goals and objectives, prioritize, and manage situations to satisfactory completion, ensuring value over effort
