Job Description

This position plays an integral role on a product management team that is responsible developing and implementing debit and prepaid product solutions and strategies designed to maximize growth by enabling
and engaging innovation, meeting the evolving needs of our stakeholders and industry, and complying with legislative, regulatory, and legal changes. The team works in a very collaborative environment with the support from an extensive cross-functional team that includes key business partners such as Pricing, Acceptance and Issuer Sales, Operating Regulations, Global Strategy, and Legal.

More specifically, this position is responsible for general product management responsibilities and the development and execution of growth strategies designed to open-up and expand acceptance in marketplace verticals that traditionally have limited payments to check and ACH. Currently, these marketplaces include Debt Repayment (e.g., auto loans, credit card payments), Rent, and Healthcare/Assisted Living. In addition, this position facilitates the development of client facing materials (presentations, white papers, and marketing collateral), develops and provides market expansion performance updates to key internal stakeholders, develops business cases that support programs sponsored by Acceptance Sales, facilitates the development and delivery of marketing programs for use by participating merchants, and facilitates the delivery of research and analysis.

Ideal candidates should have a broad perspective and acumen of the payments industry coupled with experience in developing and executing strategy. In addition, the candidate should have a solid understanding of the bill pay market segments, be adept at inspiring creative thought, and a proven ability to translate strategy into tangible initiatives.

Specific responsibilities include: 

  • Developing strategies and programs designed to accelerate the expansion of debit and prepaid card acceptance in underpenetrated bill pay marketplace verticals
  • Developing business cases, to be used with merchants, that provides compelling rationale for their participation in Visa’s marketplace expansion strategy
  • Developing business cases to garner approval of internal programs designed to accelerate the rate of merchant participation in Visa’s marketplace expansion strategy
  • Facilitating the delivery of research and analysis to support and evolve Visa’s marketplace expansion strategies and programs
  • Developing communications for use with Visa’s key stakeholders (e.g., presentations, white papers)
  • Conducting marketplace review meetings to update internal stakeholders and senior leadership
  • Tracking/reporting key metric growth rates
  • Developing solutions/processes designed to accelerate the deployment of card acceptance
  • Participating in annual planning and quarterly forecasting process for both product and acceptance
  • Working collaboratively with key business partners (e.g., Acceptance Sales, Pricing, Legal); will be highly reliant on strong influence management skills and the ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships


Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in financial or transaction services, with expertise in card industry preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree in Business or related field preferred
  • In-depth understanding of the electronic payments marketplace, regulatory environment, merchants and issuers
  • Outstanding influence management and cross-functional leadership skills Strategic and analytical thinker; demonstrated aptitude to learn quickly
  • Results-oriented, change agent who consistently challenges the status quo and himself/ herself to aim for higher ground
  • Strong project management skills with attention to detail
  • Demonstrated leadership and effectiveness at all levels; specifically, able to lead from the front, middle and back
  • Excellent communication skills to senior level executives
  • Ability to work in a fluid, creative and innovative environment
  • Able to build credibility, influence and negotiate at highest levels within core segment organizations
