Job Description

This role incumbent will help drive Visa transactions and grow revenues for Myanmar through the planning and effective implementation of marketing strategies for Visa Brand, Products, Digital, Sponsorships and Promotion Partners across key stakeholders, consumer and business cardholders, Client Banks and Merchant Partners. This individual will also help increase Client engagement, define performance indicators and measure success for Myanmar. 

Responsibilities

1. Marketing Management

  • Work with Head of Marketing Thailand & Myanmar to build marketing strategy for Myanmar in
    alignment with country strategies and business objectives

  • In depth understanding and analysis of payments industry, regulation, consumer trends
    and competition

  • Set clear KPIs for marketing activity including transaction and revenue growth goals

  • Review implementation of plans on ongoing basis and provide guidance to management to
    ensure that KPI’s are achieved

  • Ensure plans are developed in close collaboration with Corporate Communications, clearly
    documented and aligned with and effectively communicated to all stakeholders

  • Management of Agency partners, Creative, Media, Digital/Social, Media, and BTL

  • Develop Agency scopes of work based on annual plans

  • Communicate annual marketing plans to clients with regular updates at formal meetings

  • Provide regular status reports to Management team. Alert early on potential issues with
    budget forecasts

  • Manage marketing budget, forecasts, ATL, Digital, Social and BTL production and media
    costs


2. Marketing Strategy

  • Develop marketing strategies in close cooperation with Local Product, Merchant
    Acceptance and Hub teams - Point of Sale, Credit, Debit, Prepaid, payWave,
    Cross Border and e-Commerce

  • Analysis of data on Brand tracking, Transactions and specific consumer, product and
    in-market research to build strategies, performance evaluation and plan
    adjustment

  • Point of Sale Marketing: Work closely with promotional agency and Visa regional brand team to
    develop and execute Point Of Sale merchandise strategy program

  • Understanding of Visa Brand Strategy and application to specific marketing strategy

  • Awareness of Global / Regional marketing assets and ability to leverage & localize in an
    effective and cost efficient way

  • Identify and create solutions for knowledge gaps impacting effective strategy development
    and measurement

  • Partner closely with Business Development team to engage client banks to adopt
    marketing assets for cardholder programs

  • Integrate marketing programs with key Merchant partners


3. Digital & Social expertise

  • This role is responsible for driving Visa’s Digital Engagement & Media Partnerships in
    Indonesia.

  • Manage and promote key web and digital platforms including owned, earned and paid digital
    & social platforms including accelerating the importance of social as a
    core marketing muscle to move the business metrics. This includes providing
    support on content development, platform evolution, systems & delivery and
    optimization.

  • Manage our key partnership with our media buying agency Starcom, from strategy, channel
    planning, digital and data to push our digital evolution upstream

  • Incubate and manage new media partnerships working closely with AP digital engagement &
    media partnerships lead to ensure that the platforms and partnerships that are
    leveraged are aligned with the business needs and the needs of clients

  • Local digital marketing thought leadership for issuer, merchant and partners, contributing
    to, and learning from AP & global team


4. Client Marketing Support

  • Work closely with Head of Marketing Thailand & Myanmar / SEA Client Marketing Support team
    to develop client engagement plans for specific clients funded by Country
    Marketing or client incentive budgets


5. Processes and Financial

  • Manage Myanmar’s marketing budget and ensure that all activities adhere to Visa’s financial
    forecasting, reporting, sourcing, legal and compliance policies

Qualifications

Professional

  • Excellent performance and strategic marketing experience in Marketing management (at
    least 7+ years of experience), preferred in FMCG, Telecommunications, Finance/payment
    industry, Creative & Digital agency or applicable industry

  • Successful track record of marketing capabilities and deliverables

  • Bachelors’ or business/marketing or related field with marketing foundation

  • Project management, campaign development and implementation

  • Local media and digital / social insights, development and execution of media plans

  • Advertising and media agency management skills

  • Confident presenter


Technical

  • Business mindset with marketing skills rather than marketing expert alone

  • Understanding of local market

  • Understanding Marketing ROI and measurement, good data analytical skills

  • Understand market research
  • Proven understanding of digital platforms and technologies, Social and digital
    Channel communication experience

  • Proven track record managing agency partners and 3rd party technical vendors, managing
    production costs

  • Significant experience of developing and managing mid to large scale website platforms

  • Significant experience in marketing with a strong brand management and brand communication

  • Expert knowledge, skills and demonstrated track record across a range of functions
    including digital, brand, marketing analytics, performance management

  • Strong communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills
