About Innovation & Strategic Partnerships

Visa's Innovation and Strategic Partnerships organization is responsible for managing Visa's overall innovation agenda and initiatives and the management of strategic partnerships with critical non-financial institutions.

As the world becomes increasingly connected, new partners have joined Visa’s effort to digitize payments and create a more efficient global economy. Visa’s Innovation & Strategic Partnerships team manages these new relationships, from digital giants like Google and Facebook to garage-based startups—all of the new and emerging stakeholders in the payments ecosystem.

The Director will support the Visa Ready Program, one of the innovation programs within the I&SP group. By creating standards and evaluating vendors, the Visa Ready Program facilitates the adoption of innovative payment solutions benefiting Visa issuers, acquirers, merchants, and cardholders. For example, the Visa Ready program evaluates mobile point of sale (mPOS) solutions like the Square Reader, which enables mobile payment acceptance—typically through a smartphone. The Program then promotes solutions meeting Visa requirements as “Visa Ready” to industry clients and partners, helping innovations gain traction and increase digital payment globally.

This position will focus on payments authentication, another area where the Visa Ready Program is promoting payments innovation. The Visa Ready Program is currently evaluating card-based and other device-based biometric solutions. The Director will be responsible for maintaining and updating requirements for these use cases as well as building and developing relationships with vendors, key partners and emerging players in the space. The Director will work closely with internal Visa teams to help innovate new authentication methods and technologies. Finally, the Program Manager can expect to be involved in various miscellaneous projects supporting the wider Visa Ready Program.

The position will be based at Visa's San Francisco offices in California.

Qualifications

  • Payments experience preferred;demonstrated passion for technology required
  • Analytical and strategic training and acumen
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Ability to become internal subject matter expert and thought leader
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Team player possessing a strong drive to add value to the business direction Ready to challenge the status-quo, and drive innovative ideas
