Job Description

The Operations and Infrastructure (O&I) Project Management Office (PMO) provides the program and project management expertise that keeps Operations and Infrastructure projects moving, on schedule
and within budget. The team anticipates problems before they occur and determines
solutions to accomplish project goals regardless of changing circumstances. The position of Senior Director plays a key role in the effective planning and delivery of Visa's infrastructure technology platforms.

  • Manage a portfolio of infrastructure projects.
  • Provide leadership and oversight to a team of project managers. Provide project teams with
    expertise, direction, motivation, and encouragement. Team size of up to 10, with a mix of both FTE and contractor staff
  • Work with Technology Sponsors to develop project roadmaps which align to business objectives and sequenced by priority and resource availability.
  • Provide resource plans, budget tracking and forecasting. Manage team to achieve target scope, schedule and cost.
  • Identify and manage dependencies and impacts among projects across the portfolio. Manage
    issues escalated from related projects.
  • Work with technology subject matter experts to define scope, create estimates, develop budgets and project plans, and produce documentation needed for funding approvals.
  • Ensure that all projects are in compliance with Visa's Project Management Methodology and Key Controls and that accurate and timely information is collected and reported regularly on project portfolio progress and financial status.
  • Demonstrate and leverage strong business and financial acumen.
  • Communicate with various levels within the organization including senior management, project managers, and engineers.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years’ of progressive experience in project management and leadership roles in a large technology organization.
  • Strong experience in project / program management, financial and budget management in technology, technology consulting, and technology processes.
  • Relationship management skills, including working in a global environment and interacting with senior management.
  • Solid understanding of project management techniques, methodologies, and best practices. Hands-on
    experience with Waterfall, PMI, and Agile frameworks preferred
  • Must possess strong organizational and process management skills, ability to manage with
    influence in a highly matrixed environment
  • Direct management experience of project / program managers and experience with managing and developing senior staff. Management of technical teams, a plus.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. In particular, a demonstrated ability to
    effectively communicate technical and business issues and solutions to multiple organizational levels internally and externally as needed
  • Strong leadership qualities and organizational skills as well as the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, assignments, and roles
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to think strategically
  • Ability to work with virtual teams located in different time zones and with diverse cultures
  • Capable of summarizing and communicating key project portfolio health and financial information at an executive level
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Economics, Statistics or
    related field
  • MBA or Master's degree preferred
  • PMP or CSM certifications preferred
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint & Visio skills.
  • Previous experience using Clarity PPM, JIRA, or a similar project management tool is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of next gen infrastructure.
  • Prior experience in a Fortune 1000 company a plus
