The Visa Cloud Platform team is building the next generation system to provide an intelligent self-service platform, which will provide infrastructure as a service, and platform as a service offerings. In addition to a web portal and an API gateway, the core layer of the platform will perform self-managing operations such as automated load balancing, auto-scaling, and auto-healing of services. The team also integrates with a number of internal applications of Visa to provide a seamless way for the end users to get a completely functioning environment which is ready to use.

Responsibilities

• Develop scalable, distributed, multi-threaded applications using Java.
• Write automated tests to validate the developed features.
• Build tools to report on status of operations and performance
• Integrate with automated testing platform to enable continuous delivery of the platform components
• Building and managing development, test, integration, performance and stage environments
• Collaborate with team members in design reviews, development and code reviews
• Identify opportunities for future enhancements and refinements to standards, best practices and development methodologies.
• Create documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance

Required skills:

• Bachelor's Degree with 3+ years of hands-on development experience in Java or Master's Degree, preferably in Computer Science
• Passionate about learning & delivering code with excellent quality
• Ability to collaborate in a team environment
  
• Solid foundation in object oriented methodologies & design patterns
  
• Knowledge in developing and consuming REST based web services
• Good knowledge of SQL and DB concepts (SQL Server preferred)
• Experience writing unit and integration test cases
• Good understanding / experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript (JQuery, Angular JS/Backbone, etc.)

Nice to have skills:

• Working experience in Ruby/CHEF
• Working experience with Mongo DB
• Exposure to Docker and related eco-system
• Understanding of the DevOps practices
