This position is for a Lead Software Engineer with solid development experience on the Risk and Authentication team who will focus on creating new functionality while maturing our code base and development processes. In this position, you are first a passionate and talented developer that can work in a dynamic environment as a member of Agile Scrum teams. Your strong technical leadership, problem-solving abilities, coding, testing and debugging skills is just a start. You must be dedicated to filling product backlog and delivering production-ready code. You must be willing to go beyond the routine and prepared to do a little bit of everything.

You will be an integral part of the development team, sometimes investigating new requirements and design and at times refactoring existing functionality for performance and maintainability, but always working on ways to make us more efficient and provide better solutions to our end customers. The role is for a self-organized individual with knowledge of web application and web service development. The candidate will perform hands-on activities including design, documentation, development and test of new functionality. Candidate must be flexible and willing to switch tasks based on team’s needs.

Primary Responsibilities

• Identify appropriate technology solutions to meet platform requirements by performing technological evaluations and implementing proof of concepts
• Dev owner and accountable for one or more sub-systems of overall scoring platform
• Lead and conduct design review sessions for the team
• Engage in design of new systems, functionality or refactor existing functionality
• Design and implement APIs, abstractions and integration patterns to solve challenging distributed computing problems
• Work with Product office to understand & review requirements for new development & also get sign-off on production ready software
  
• Work independently to implement new functionality, automated tests, and refactor code
• Work with team to ensure consistent, predictable & productive execution for high quality deliverables
• Work with other engineering teams to facilitate a common approach to continuous integration that includes build automation, test automation, and deployment automation
• Review requirements to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, completeness & to mitigate risks
• Lead design reviews & provide input on requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems
• Understand and own component security analysis, including code and data flow review.
• Collaborate with security team to implement and verify secure coding techniques Ensure proper metrics instrumentation in software components, to help facilitate real time and remote troubleshooting/performance monitoring
• Lead code reviews with team members and third party vendors
• Support trouble-shooting issues in both the test and production environments
• Respond to and solve defects in a timely manner consistent with the business needs

Required:

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field and 12+ years of Software Development Experience or a Masters with 10+ years of Software Development Experience
• Solid understanding with fundamentals of object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, software design patterns & complexity analysis
• Past experience with owning, developing, & maintaining highly scalable, reliable, high volume, performant & fault-tolerant systems
• 10+ years of experience in Core Java, JEE technologies, spring frameworks, REST, JavaScript framework like JSON, & unit testing frameworks like junit, jmock, etc.
• Knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL and experience with database client tools with databases like Oracle and SQL
• Solid understanding of NoSQL database technologies, Hbase, Mongo, TSDB
• Experience with web service standards and related technologies (SOAP, XML, etc.)
• Experience with middleware –both Web and AppServers like Apache/Tomcat/tcServer
• Experience in big data related technologies like Hadoop/hive/MapReduce/Pig
• Experience with distributed caching technologies like Redis, Coherence
• Experience with Complex Event Stream processing & data aggregation
  
• Experience architecting solutions with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery in mind
• Experience with source control, build and deployment tools such as Git, Maven & Jenkins
• Lead efforts to architect, design and implement various components of our Risk Scoring Platform
• Strong analytical skills with good problem solving ability desired.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with effective communication (both written and verbal) skills and the ability to present complex ideas in a clear & concise way, a team player with good work ethics
• Ability to work in a complex organization to determine business and customer needs, providing the best solution to meet those needs.
• Candidate must be able to proficiently multi-task and be able to work independently or in a team environment
