Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned hands-on Chief Systems Architect - Corporate IT with experience operating Corporate IT infrastructure and end-user services supporting a large workforce at or greater than 10000+. This person will drive adoption of best-practices for Monitoring and Telemetry, AD, SSO/Federation, Automation and Tooling, Configuration Management, Storage Design, Exchange on premise, Lync & Cisco Voice and Virtual Compute infrastructure. This position is focused heavily on identifying and delivering processes, documented standards, introducing technology management solutions (i.e. JAMF, BigFix, custom automation frameworks) and tooling & automation that solve gaps in best practice standards across the corporate enterprise. The qualified candidate develops solutions that: consistently manage corporate data and risk, are resilient and highly availability and solutions that are measured for adherence to performance metrics. The candidate will hold an important leadership position, possibly with direct reports, and is accountable for the delivery of quarterly key performance metrics around service metrics.

Your Responsibilities
•Green field opportunity to build core IT services from the ground up.
•Perform technical gap assessments from infrastructure to application to end-user management and services and prioritize recommendations.
•Develop processes and perform ongoing design and configuration review of core IT services.
•Identify gaps around best practice standards and develop remediation plans to reduce risk.
•Define alerting, telemetry and data collection best practice standards.
•Develop automation (perl, python) to make your data actionable.
•Have total visibility on end-to-end performance, from client all the way to infrastructure.
•Develop a robust monitoring framework that detects application and infrastructure level issues, performance problems, data resiliency and integrity problems.
•Develop robust automation frameworks for management, administration, monitoring and testing.
•Defines testing strategies that balance functional test suites and internal crowd sourcing.
•Sets the standard and migrates internal teams to adoption.
•Drives adoption of technology standards for collaboration and cloud services strategies.
•Uses data to make decisions and measure ongoing success.
•Define a technical strategy from the foundation up, from infrastructure to application to end-users.
•Define IT governance standards and procedures.
•Eliminate friction towards technical adoption of standard and implementation of procedures.
•Develop appropriate virtualization solutions necessary to scale, automate and manage cost.
•Bring new productivity and security features to our employee base, built on a strong platform foundation.


Qualifications

•You are excited about this green field opportunity and ability to build your infrastructure and services the right way.
•You roll up your sleeves to get the job done.
•You are an expert on common IT technologies like Exchange, Lync/Skype, Cisco Voice, VDI, VmWare, JAMF, SCCM/SCOM, BigFix.
•Designing for resiliency, failure testing and performance tuning is your thing You are an expert in OS, filesystem, storage and network performance tuning.
•Are incredibly passionate about performance data and visibility.
•You have a track record of implementing robust, tailored alerting and data visibility solutions.
•You use this performance data to detect/repair application and infrastructure issues, understand customer pain points and define the IT roadmap.
•Are an expert in describing proper telemetry needed to operate a highly performant corporate IT environment.
•You develop automation (how could you do your job without automating everything?!) using Perl/Python.
•You are an expert at storage design, backup technology & architecture and assessing and developing data resilient strategies.
•The buck stops with you, and you can troubleshoot complex issues from client side to the backend service.
•Have struggled with and solved technology standardization problems.
•You have used data to solve these problems and measure your success.
•Have worked supporting hybrid Mac/Windows/*nix environments, encountered and solved real issues due to hybrid environment.
•You test ‘all the things.’ You insist on and can define comprehensive testing strategies – from complex upgrades to regular system patches OS agnostic expertise: you can do the job on Mac, Windows or Linux; right tool for the right job.
•Have a passion for doing it right. Cutting corners is not acceptable. You are considered high output on technical delivery and implementation because you know your stuff.


•10+ Years experience in Information Technology in roles of increasing technical responsibility.
•Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
•Published papers in the industry is a plus.
