Job Description

Reporting to the senior director of corporate communications, the director will help drive Visa’s reputation and position as the best way to pay and be paid. The director will lead and support proactive marketing communications programs with a focus on technology, security, and issues management.

We are looking for a dynamic team player with exceptional writing and critical thinking skills as well as the ability to work cross-functionally within a broader, integrated marketing communications team. The ideal candidate will have agency experience in fundamental communications disciplines. Additionally, the ideal candidate will exhibit a clear understanding of the changing media landscape, strong research and problem-solving skills, creative thinking, issues management experience, project management expertise, diplomacy, a global mindset, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. The director must be an independent self-starter but also collaborative to a fault. A strong interest in security and public affairs experience are preferred.

Responsibilities include:
• Develop deep subject matter expertise in payments and Visa’s business, security strategy, technology, products and services, and priority initiatives.
• Working alongside marketing counterparts, build a comprehensive communications plan in support of Visa’s security strategies that successfully integrates paid/earned/social/owned platforms.
• Identify and understand the needs of key stakeholders that play a vital role in Visa’s corporate story.
• Create and execute multi-media campaigns that amplify Visa’s corporate messages through social, digital and traditional media, leveraging video, pictures, infographics, social posts, thought leadership and experiential marketing events.
• Have a passion for, and deep experience in, developing and executing media relations programs. This includes building and maintaining reporter relationships, identifying story ideas, pitching stories and managing through to point of coverage
• Create high-quality written content, including but not limited to: news releases, blog posts, fact sheets, executive briefing materials, opinion pieces, and related collateral and social media extension.
• Build and manage executive visibility plans for Visa’s senior executives.
• Provide communications support and counsel to global colleagues, serving as a subject matter expert on security and other key corporate business areas.
• Help plan for and manage crises and issues.
• Lead Visa’s vertical social media presence through @VisaSecurity.
• Manage team tracking, monitoring and reporting.
