Job Description

Overview

The primary purpose of this position is to:

  • Lead strategic IT sourcing initiatives in the AP Region
  • Assist IT Category Leads in driving global priorities to achieve optimal total cost of ownership

Position Summary

  • Collaborate with Global IT Category Leads and internal customer groups to establish specifications for focused categories.
  • Support the AP IT business unit in the sourcing, supplier qualification, negotiation, contract management (Procure-to-Pay) process
  • Identify and develop sourcing and spend management strategies to deliver cost savings across various IT business work streams (HW/SW/Network/Telecoms etc.)
  • Align and support the Global IT category in opportunity assessments across various IT spend categories (HW/SW/Services/Maintenance etc.) and delivery of strategic projects
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve optimal total cost of ownership across all spend.
  • Communicate and guide business users to sourcing policies, standards and guidelines
  • Report to Vice President Global IT Sourcing

Responsibilities

  • Support business units in the IT sourcing and negotiation process (understanding business units’ requirements; sourcing of IT Suppliers; RFX management; bid evaluation; total cost of ownership approach)
  • Vendor identification, review / qualification (e.g. Financial, Insurance, Information Security; Risk; Business Continuity; Reference check) and performance management
  • Source for candidates for RFP and conduct the whole RFP cycle professionally and in compliance of company policies
  • Assist in, and facilitates, contract negotiations, in conjunction with the business owners and suppliers to establish contract terms and conditions and coordinate with Legal Department. (E.g. Non-Disclosure Agreement, Master Service Agreement, Work Statement etc.)
  • Guide and support business units to comply with Global Sourcing Policy
  • Procurement data reporting and analysis if and when required
  • Manage business and supplier relationship well and value add to cost savings initiative if and when appropriate
  • Perform market analysis, benchmark analysis and spend analysis for focused categories.
  • Support the development and execution of Category sourcing strategies
  • Perform savings tracking and report realized savings on a continuous base.

Qualifications

Professional

  • Bachelor degree of relevant studies required. MBA, or advanced degree preferred
  • At least 8 – 10 years of direct experience as an IT sourcing and/or procurement professional with proven track record of achieving cost savings across various global IT spend categories
  • Professional accreditation in sourcing, procurement or inventory management a plus

Technical

  • Good negotiation and inter-personal skills are necessary.
  • Good knowledge in supplier sourcing skills in the multiple IT spend categories.
  • In-depth understanding of the supplier marketplace for the assigned category(ies); deep industry and/or professional relationships with suppliers in the categories a plus
  • Experience assisting in, or leading, the development and management of category plans or sourcing strategies.
  • Track record of increasing responsibility for IT vendor management initiatives, including but not limited to the execution of (or assistance in) sourcing events (RFP, RFI, etc.).
  • Sound proven experience in running RFx activities (Request for Information/Proposal etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite(Excel, Word and PowerPoint), Oracle and Ariba a plus
  • Experience in using Oracle i-Procurement and Purchase Order modules a plus
  • Knowledgeable about contractual, purchase request, purchase order, supplier setup, and catalog document processing
  • Demonstrated contract and agreement negotiation experience, including development of negotiating plans and strategies.
  • Ability to learn and become subject matter expert quickly
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively handle issues and challenging situations
  • Highly motivated; demonstrates a "can-do" approach in being proactive with work assignments

Business

  • Excellent communication skills; written, oral and presentation skills and an ability to synthesize information and make concise recommendations on course of action
  • Ability to independently identify and pursue multiple initiatives simultaneously and deliver superior results
