Job Description

The Role

The role of the Director for Consumer Credit Cards is to own and grow Visa's market leadership in Consumer Credit through the design and development of the future payments road map for the credit card strategy.

As part of the Product & Digital Solutions team, this role’s function is to support our Clients drive their credit card business in Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific. It will serve to increase customer preference for their Visa account and position Visa as a strategic partner and enabler of superior value propositions.

In this role, you will need to be highly collaborative and support the development and implementation of product solutions. You will provide expert advice to clients, by understanding the client's business problem or market opportunity and help them find the right solutions. You will be responsible for the go-to-market strategy and implementation of the consumer credit strategy and achieve high levels of client satisfaction and engagement.

The person in this role will be known as the residing Credit expert for the Australian and New Zealand Market.

We are looking for a self-starter who has in-depth credit product management expertise with a strong track record of delivery and whom is digitally curious and technically capable. You should have experience working in a matrixed structure and adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver the best credit product solutions for our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver the credit product strategy and client plans through key initiatives including but not limited to; optimisation of current business, CVP development, acquisition and activation strategies
  • Achieve specific market product and volume targets specifically payment volume (PV) and International Cash Targets.
  • Understand emerging payments and how consumers of the future will transact and make payments
  • Work with key stakeholders to develop enhanced credit proposition customer experiences and other technology based service solutions
  • Review and advise on business requirement documents, value propositions, pricing, product positioning and distribution options with clients, third parties and internal Visa stakeholders
  • Lead the market analysis and product development strategy for credit cards; develop and submit product strategy plans
  • Drive go-to-market activities with detailed project management and close engagement with key internal stakeholders across the AUNZSP region
  • Prepare client-ready materials for briefings and support sales and deployment activities
  • Take ownership to design and facilitate client and partner co-creation engagements
  • Give compelling design presentations to Executive
  • Leadership and external partners.
  • Initiate and own any product research to be undertaken for the product team through use of both client and Visa analytical tools to make proactive recommendations to client management
  • Develop and maintain detailed best practices, project plans, including detailed tasks and deliverables, resources required, timelines, dependencies and contingencies
  • Development and management of product reporting for the market

Qualifications

Technical

  • Extensive experience in product management, preferably with a credit and innovation/digital focus
  • Bachelor's degree in Business preferred. An MBA/MS is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of the consumer credit landscape and the application of this to the evolving digital payments world.
  • Financial services and/or payments processing industry experience is a plus.
  • A passion for emerging payment technologies and ability to translate concepts and product strategy into executable plans
  • An understanding of both consumer payments and merchant business drivers
  • Good balance between strategic thinking and detailed, flawless execution with attention to detail.
  • An ability to engage on technical issues and concepts across multiple organization levels inside and outside Visa.
  • Able to work independently, yet seamlessly integrate and manage diverse groups and functions organized within different organizational reporting lines
  • Client facing experience with a focus on translating client/partner needs into meaningful problem statements, and driving collaboration outcomes.
  • Experienced in design thinking methods, prototyping, digital design and user research highly regarded
