Job Description
Responsible for defining and implementing strategic plans and
initiatives essential to expanding Visa acceptance in global merchant market
segments. This position will report to the VP of Strategic Initiatives and work
closely with a global cross-functional group of stakeholders spanning Merchant
Sales (Americas, Europe, Asia Pacific, and CEMEA), Risk, Operating Rules, Merchant
Marketing, Pricing, and Product teams, among others, to identify key target
segments for expanding acceptance. The
position will be responsible for developing and implementing sales and pricing
programs, policies, and rules to accelerate acceptance development in these target
segments. Another area of responsibility
will be the identification of strategic partnership and other business
development opportunities that could further the growth of Visa acceptance in
different segments or countries. The position will also support additional
strategic acceptance initiatives as required.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the planning and execution of initiatives to support Visa’s
global strategy for expansion of merchant acceptance in underpenetrated country
and market segments
Identify and assess key acceptance opportunities, challenges and
barriers to growth in expand access countries and marketsDevelop and execute, in conjunction with cross-sectional teams, approaches
that leverage new and existing methods, policies and practices for expanding
merchant acceptance in relevant marketsLead the coordination and communication of best practices and applicable
policy initiatives across key global markets to further expand acceptanceProvide strategic guidance and support to country teams on local expand
access programs and initiative implementationsIn conjunction with local regional and country sales teams, lead the
development of new partnership opportunitiesFacilitate the development of new policies, frameworks and business
levers to grow acceptance globally
Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge of payments
industry, particularly issues related to merchant acceptance10+ years business experience in
Payments/ Consulting organizations, preferably in a global capacityDemonstrated track record of
planning, managing and concluding complex projectsAbility to implement strategic
initiatives, policies and operational decisions for a major segment and
businessExcellent written and verbal
communication skills with the ability to establish effective relationships
across levels including executive management.Ability to establish, manage
& grow internal and external resources and influence cross functional
relationshipsExperience negotiating business
agreements and ability to enhance existing and develop new business
partnershipsAbility to think creatively and
strategically in identifying new approaches to acceptance development and
implementing programs for expanding acceptanceAbility to enhance existing,
and develop new, business partnershipsSome international travel
requiredBachelor’s degree required; MBA
preferred
