THE POSITION

This role will support the Global Sponsorship leads who manage the Olympics & FIFA verticals primarily and NFL (in non-Olympic/FIFA World Cup years). Each of these cornerstone platforms are leveraged across the Visa business and require day to day interaction with multiple stake holders both internally and externally. The Global Sponsorship Marketing Manager role will be responsible for the following:

Visa’s global Olympic partnerships include the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in place for 30 years, National Olympic Committees (such as the USOC), the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), the US Ski and Snowboard Association and 40+ athletes that make up Team Visa.

Visa’s global FIFA sponsorship includes day to day management of Tier II events which are activated throughout the world each year. In FIFA Confederations Cup and FIFA World Cup years this role will play a key support in delivering the marketing management and use of our FIFA rights as well as onsite activation support of key Visa programs at the tournaments.

Reporting to the Head of Olympics (primary manager) and Head of FIFA (secondary manager), this motivated professional will become a recognized face across the Visa business both internally and externally. The scope of work includes (a) working across a broad team of agency partners, Visa stakeholders, and properties in the management and implementation of the Visa rights implementation in the host countries of major future events and (b) serving as a champion of these assets for how to best leverage and activate our Global Olympic and FIFA sponsorships. Additionally this role will have key interactions with the Properties themselves and relationship building is a key qualification for this role.


This global marketer will partner with the Visa Global Brand, Product and Innovation marketing team to ensure delivery of Visa’s marketing campaigns, and work hand in hand with regional counterparts to strengthen strategic alignment and integration of all sponsorships. There will be accountability for meeting established ROI and marketing effectiveness measures across all areas.


RESPONSIBILITY SCOPE
• Sponsorship Management:
o Support sponsorship acquisition, sponsorship portfolio management, event operations & Hospitality.
o Support contract negotiations with prospective partners and renegotiations with existing ones interacting with Legal and representing the business point of view, driving alignment and across the organization.
o Serve as the key contact for property rights usage management, activation and approvals across the Olympics and FIFA
o Lead the coordination in host countries of the infrastructure of the events. Liaise with the Organizing Committees and the Host Country Project Manager to ensure smooth delivery of Visa’s contractual assets and provide oversight to insure rights are protected.
o Matrix work: comfortably and continuously present high performance on a matrix organization where multiple Global, Regional and Local constituents converge towards the same event.
o In non-Olympic and FIFA World Cup years, provide management support to the NFL vertical within GSM
o Project tracking of key GSM deliverables including budget oversight.
• Sponsorship Marketing:
o Work collaboratively with the Global Brand, Product and Innovation marketing team on the development of all Olympics and FIFA consumer, client and partner communications including but is not limited to: development of core creative idea, visual identity systems, promotions, digital strategy and plans including social media, on the ground activation at event time including the onsite activation, advertising, media strategy, etc.
o Provide centralized management of the Team Visa talent program across all three verticals: Olympics, FIFA and NFL (secondary support).
o Support and project track our innovation initiatives alongside both properties
o Asset marketing activation support and onsite execution at the Olympics and FIFA World Cup
o Center of Excellence for Visa clients, merchant and brand activation and utilization of pass-through rights for Visa client network
o Drive Global client, product and activation strategies and asset allocation to maximize use of Sponsorship Platforms
