The Director will report to the head of MAPPD’s Business Operations. This position will work closely with MAPPD’s Leadership Team, as well as with leaders across MAPPD’s product development teams, architecture, test engineering and support teams, as well as with leaders in other Technology & Operations teams and partner organizations.

This role is an individual contributor position, working in partnership with other team members and teams to deliver results.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to plan, define, manage, and deliver high visibility initiatives and events in a timely manner as it relates to Product Development across all locations. Responsibilities include:

  • Leadership Team and Extended Leadership Team Programs and Forums: Build and administer frameworks and operating rhythms for MAPPD’s Leadership Team (SVP and his direct reports) and the Extended Leadership Team (Leadership Team and their direct reports). This includes planning semi-annual leadership offsite events and other forums to ensure alignment across MAPPD’s leaders.
  • People Management Programs: Develop and administer internal programs designed to ensure our managers have the training, tools, skills, and support they need to be effective people managers in partnership with Visa University, Human Resources, the Diversity & Inclusion team, and other partner organizations. Plan and administer the monthly Managers’ Meetings, ensuring agendas are meaningful and productive, meetings are well facilitated, and action items are communicated and tracked.
  • Champion Employee Engagement and Diversity Programs: Lead MAPPD’s efforts to significantly improve and drive employee engagement, including advancing improvements in tools and processes, rewards and recognition, people management, and organizational culture. Collaborate with leadership and management on the development of action plans for responding to feedback received in Visa’s annual employee engagement survey and divisional surveys, ensuring plans are put into place, tracked, and measured against. Also, provide program leadership support for MAPPD’s diversity and inclusion. initiatives and efforts consistent with Visa’s strategies and goals.
  • Engagement Events: Provide operational support to MAPPD’s various engagement programs, forums and activities in partnership with MAPPD’s leadership and extended leadership teams. Serve as liaison with the office of the EVP of Technology & Operations for programs where MAPPD serves as co-manager or participant (e.g.,Hackathons). 
  • Operational Alignment: Work closely with all functions to align operations with strategy. Effect results by maneuvering through appropriate formal and informal organization channels. Influence across all levels.
  • Operating Rhythms: Create and manage effective,scalable processes to manage operating rhythms such as operating reviews, staff meetings, global visits, and operating excellence processes. Will work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of MAPPD, its products, partners, and processes.

Qualifications


  • Minimum 8-10 years of progressively responsible experience in directly relevant senior roles in business and technical program/project management, product development, business planning and operations, chief of staff, organizational development, and/or technical product management and support, preferably in a global technology company or technology division of a global financial services company.
  • BA/BS degree is required with preference for degrees in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Excellent facilitation, collaboration and teamwork skills with demonstrated ability to gain trust, secure buy-in and influence change at all levels.
  • Experience in event planning, management, and
    facilitation, including leadership offsites, employee forums and feedback
    sessions, social and recognition events, etc.
  • Outstanding communicator with engaging delivery, excellent presentation and strong written and oral communications skills.Expert ability to develop a wide variety of written content for a broad range of stakeholders using a wide range of tools and channels.
  • Demonstrated advanced effective project and program management skills, with the ability to define scope, develop and drive project delivery vs. an established schedule, and manage interdependencies, risks, and issues on initiatives. Experience ideally spans a broad range of business and technology programs and initiatives, including product development and management, process improvement, innovation, professional development, employee or human resource programs, and rewards and recognition.
  • Data driven mindset, with ability to design surveys,capture metrics and data, and leverage data and analytics to measure program effectiveness and progress.
  • Advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and SharePoint) required.Experience with Salesforce Chatter and Photoshop, a plus.
