Visa Tokenization Services (VTS) is part of the Digital and Mobile Product Development (DMPD) Group within the Visa Technology Organization. Tokenization is a key pillar of Visa’s digital future, allowing innovators to develop new payment use cases where a traditional card simply is not viable (IoT, Contextual Commerce, etc,).

We are looking for a talented Software Engineer to join our team in VTS Singapore!

Software Engineer

As a Software Engineer you will help design, enhance and build our solutions for customers in an agile, fast-paced environment. You will be working with colleagues across the company, who will help support and challenge you every day. Designing solutions, writing code, unit testing code, reviewing code and frequent check-ins for continuous integration is just part of your DNA. You will see your code going to production in just a few weeks and used by strategic accounts worldwide. Your responsibilities will include:

• Design and develop new system enhancements as well as fix defects in existing software.

• Leverage newer technologies and develop solutions to build the next generation of payment platforms.

• Help our clients achieve their business goals by understanding their requirements and delivering the best solution.

• Participate in design and implement various aspects of secure payment solutions.

• You’ll develop and deliver new features every few weeks.

• Your DNA would include following and creating software best practices and processes.

• Adhere to agile, scrum team methodologies.

• Actively participate in meetings and discussions with product and architecture teams.

• Develop close working relationships with members of teams within the organization.

Your background will ideally incorporate:

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related technology field;

Typically, candidates are expected to have 2-3 years of experience working in a technology company on Java and related technologies.

You would be expected to bring in expertise that includes:

• Work and academic experience that will demonstrate proficiency and ease with one or more programming languages, quality assurance, scripting languages and operating systems.

• Good hands-on development experience in technologies including JAVA, J2EE, SQL and related technology stack, preferably incorporating open source libraries.

• Hands-on experience writing unit test cases using frameworks like JUnit / TestNG is required.

• Exposure to Spring Framework and JPA / Hibernate is a strong Plus.

• Strong foundation expected in data structures, algorithms, problem solving and complexity analysis.

• A couple of years of demonstrated experience with n-tier web application development and experience in latest JDK is desired. Java / J2EE certification is a Plus.

• Experience with web services standards and related technologies (XML, JSON, REST, SOAP, WS*, AXIS, JERSEY) is nice to have.

• Demonstrable experience utilizing object-oriented patterns and design best practices is a strong Plus.

• Good working knowledge of working with Tomcat Application Server and Oracle Database is needed.
