Job Description

  • Work with Application teams to deploy their
    applications with the optimal Load Balancing and Akamai design.

  • Work on
    for WAN and WAN Optimization products, working with application owners
    and clients to fine-tune WAN links for optimal performance






  • Extensive experience working with F5 and Cisco Load Balancers.

  • Extensive experience working with Akamai deployments

  • At least 5-7 years related experience in service provider
    environments, designing, planning, documenting and implementing Load
    Balancers and WAN Optimizers


  • Provide 3rd level technical support to Visa
    clients and to technical teams within Visa to resolve network issues and to
    support the implementation of new network solutions

  • Evaluate new technology and bring
    opportunities forward that would improve the future network architecture,
    performance, and network services

  • Ensure full compliance of Visa Key Controls
    and Technical Service Requirements for all network architecture, designs, and
    implementations both past and present

  • Ensure all changes go through appropriate
    review, change control, and acceptance before implementation

  • Lead development, testing and QA functions
    to ensure that projects are securely delivered and fulfill expectations

  • Build and maintain relationships with
    global and virtual teams and third parties on network development or support
    issues

  • Provide highest level of technical
    consultancy to ensure problem resolution is achieved in the shortest possible
    timeframe

  • Work with the Information Security Office
    to ensure solutions deployed meet Visa Security Requirements and provide
    technical assistance for investigation and analysis of security alerts

  • Development of processes and procedures for
    use by the Network team and third parties in the management of network
    environments

  • Develop and position solutions and build
    plans to effectively gain buy-in from all participants

  • Provide recommendations to management team
    to increase effectiveness of organization and technology solutions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related
    field

  • Experience working with carriers to
    evaluate technology, pricing, SLAs, redundancy, etc. for global network
    deployment initiatives

  • Extensive experience and expertise on IP
    routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP

  • Advanced understanding of TCP/IP network
    protocols, including common application protocols

  • Self-sufficient with the ability to make
    engineering decisions within the documented configuration requirements and
    control processes

  • This position will need to be able to
    communicate and work effectively with implementation teams, customer relations,
    and internal/external customers to engineer solutions to meet the needs of all
    stakeholders

  • Advanced process orientation and exhibited
    planning, organizational, and problem solving skills

  • Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and
    leadership skills along with effective communication (both written and verbal
    in English) skills

  • The ability to support network operations
    in an on-call fashion is a requirement
