Job Description

The Sr. Sales Engineer, positioned within the industry-leading CyberSource / Visa Merchant Sales & Solutions organization, is a key contributor to enterprise merchant sales opportunities. The Sr. SE brings critical product knowledge, technical ability, and industry best practices to sales engagements to help drive incremental revenue. In collaboration with an Account Executive, the Sr. SE is primarily responsible for solution presentations, detailed demonstrations, and product Q&A for the CyberSource / Visa suite of 50+ payment management-related services. Internally, the role interfaces with various departments including Product & Solutions Management, Marketing, Customer Support, and Product Development to communicate market feedback and industry trends.

Qualifications

  • Develop knowledge of all CyberSource solutions and maintain detailed expertise in 3+ major product lanes
  • Team up with Account Executives and Customer Success Managers to drive incremental revenue through new customer acquisition and upsell of existing customers
  • Provide solution presentations, product demonstrations, and support Q&A in a customer-facing environment to executives and engineers
  • Digest customer business / technical requirements and position CyberSource solutions to address their needs
  • Provide technical guidance and industry best practices throughout the sales cycle to drive opportunities to close
  • Engage with internal teams including Product Management, Product Development, Customer Support and Product Marketing to relay market feedback and provide input into the design of new solutions
  • Contribute to completion of RFI/RFP requests
  • Lead quarterly internal product training sessions to sales and customer success teams
  • Actively participate as a subject matter expert at industry conferences, tradeshows, customer events and summits

Additional Information

• 5+ years of technical sales experience within the payment industry
• Strong knowledge of payment-gateway functionality including payment processing, security solutions, and fraud prevention techniques
• Knowledge and/or certification of eCommerce platforms (e.g. Demandware, Hybris, NetSuite, Magento, Oracle Commerce, etc.) a plus
• Confident speaker with ability to present, interact, and connect with executives to engineers alike
• Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner
• Strong natural desire to expand industry knowledge
• Excellent verbal and communication skills
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent self-investigation, research, and troubleshooting skills
• Technical background including a BS degree in CS, CIS, or related discipline
• Ability to travel up to 30%
