Job Description

The role will be responsible for leading the introduction, development and evolution of Visa’s product suite into a key strategic markets in the region. Visa is on the leading edge of the evolution of payments and is looking for an experienced leader with a proven track record to lead this critical business. Core to the responsibilities are setting the product strategy and leading the team to deliver results. Broader than a pure products role, the incumbent will be required to deploy start up mentality within an established organization and be responsible for the end to end product implementation from sales and marketing to network, operations and technology as well as engaging with clients on their digital strategies, and supporting client implementation and integration engagement management of Visa’s Digital Products.

India is one of the fastest growing and most dynamic markets in the region. With a number of key banking relationships, the environment has rapidly evolved to become a fast paced fintech and start up driven environment, driven by large scale mobile adoption, the emerging middle class and backed by government initiatives.

Working in the context of the rapidly evolving environment, this position encompasses bringing Visas capabilities to a wide variety of customers from traditional banking relationships to start ups and telco’s. The position will be responsible for key geographies, primarily India, but including Sri Lanka Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Maldives and will execute across the full range of the product function from Core and EP+I to emerging products such as mVIsa.

The role will be required to collaborate closely with client teams and development teams to ensure the demands of visa clients are meet in the markets.

To this role the ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in Products, preferably gained through multiple market experience. Cultural agility and the proven ability to work effectively across functions paired with the necessary gravitas and leadership skills to execute will be integral for success.

Specific Responsibilities include:

  • Lead and manage Visa's Products (Credit/Premium, Pre-paid and Commercial) strategies, product development, sales, implementation in India to maximize clients/Visa Cards, volume, profitability and market share.

  • Align with Visa India country management team, provide various support to India country team in area of core products to achieve country goals.

  • Act as Subject Matter Expert of the payment industry in India, contribute to increase Visa's corporate reputations in local market and maintain relationships with regulators and other industry representatives.

  • Lead the collaboration, co-creation and co-development with regional and local Fintech players in close coordination with internal innovation and partnership teams

  • Lead prioritization process for product’s APIs and other important companywide developments

  • Lead the implementation of issuer’s innovation agenda in close partnership with country and business development teams.

  • Identify high-priority use cases, leveraging Human Centered Design and other consumer centric methods.

  • Lead and support the expansion of Visa technologies in alternative acceptance channels (e.g. Push Payments)

Qualifications

  • 15+ years’ experience in product leadership, development and strategy especially in areas such as digital banking, human centered design, software development, API management & NFC 

  • Excellent analytical (qualitative and quantitative) fluency

  • Proven leadership capabilities including strong thought leadership, effective decision making, strategy development and ability to drive results

  • Proactive and effective communicator, experienced in presenting information to all levels and with ability to facilitate large group discussions

  • Strategic thinking ability to assess complex business environments and translate into actionable business plans and executions

  • Strong collaboration and ability to manage cross functionally

  • Ability to influence at senior levels

  • Manage, coach and empower a team

  • Understanding of P&L drivers and overall business acumen

  • Bachelor's degree
