Job Description

What's the job? As a senior software engineer in the Clearing and Settlement Department in the Network Processing Client Information Clearing and Settlement (CICAS) organization, you'll be responsible for the implementation, maintenance and support of Visa's Clearing and Settlement systems, which clear, settle, and deliver transactions to issuer and acquirer financial institutions globally. Business applications and SWIFT Alliance Access requires some specific processing to be integrated with each other. The Integration Platform is an extension of Alliance Access, which is the development platform for such integration processing. You will be the technical developer that will play a key role on the application development, support and rollouts of SWIFT Alliance Access application for VISA Global Treasury function. Through this challenging job, you'll gain experience collaborating with various parts of the business in understanding requirements for system enhancements, identifying areas of improvement and implementing changes to the system where it is needed. You'll provide rotational 24/7 on call support for problem resolution. The product that you oversee will be of the highest quality meeting all requirements within the scheduled timeframe.

The Integration Platform is based on FuseESB, an enterprise service bus (ESB) built on various products written in Java, mainly those of Apache. Experience in java and Unix including line
commands, shell scripts (ksh, Perl, and awk) etc is required. Experience with application server GlassFIsh, JBOSS, Tomcat, Weblogic is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Expected to be knowledgeable about Alliance Access, Apache Camel, Apache Karaf, the Spring Framework, and in some cases, various Java related technologies.

  • Experience in integrating Alliance Access in an enterprise infrastructure by using
    components designed for the Integration Platform.

  • 5+ years of professional work experience in software design, development and
    testing.

  • 5+ years of experience with UNIX including line commands, shell scripts (ksh, Perl
    and awk), etc.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with SWIFT Alliance Access family of products
    (SAA, AWP, SAG, Web Access) including application functionality and
    configuration (routing, security profiles, message processing, monitoring)

  • Experience with application server GlassFIsh, JBOSS, Tomcat, Weblogic is a plus.

  • Good understanding of overall SWIFT products, services and solutions including SWIFT
    FIN messaging (MT/MX), FIN Copy, PKI certificates and RMA concepts.

  • The ability to analyze log files and collaborate with vendor in analysis of log
    files.

  • Understanding on Oracle DBMS is a plus. Administration knowledge of Oracle database
    preferably on 11g and 12c is a plus

  • Experience with SWIFT IPLA development.

  • Knowledge of software development tools (GIT, Jira, Jenkins etc)

  • Working knowledge of SDLC and Agile software development lifecycles.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate with internal and
    external stakeholders.

  • Ability to multi task and handle multiple competing priorities with minimal direction
    from management. Should possess excellent planning and organizational skills

  • The ability to self-govern, to be flexible, to prioritize and manage their own time to meet tight project/program deadlines.

  • Strong problem determination skills and ability to resolve critical issues for complex systems under tight timeframes.

  • The ability to build strong customer relationships to work with Business Partners, internal staff, external vendors on a daily basis.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent. Advanced degree is a nice to have.


Responsibilities

  • Design, code and implement components for the Integration Platform.

  • Technical Developer who will play a key role on the application Support and rollouts of
    SWIFT Alliance Access application for VISA Global Treasury function.

  • Day to day operational Production support. Tasks may include but not limited
    to production monitoring, issue analysis & resolution, support ticket
    management, and SWIFT product patch review, installation & testing.

  • Participate in successful project delivery of SWIFT Alliance Access application rollouts
    while adhering to Visa’s internal Software Development/Testing Methodologies
    and industry best practices.

  • Participate in Disaster recovery planning and execution.

  • Ability to comprehend complex business requirements and map into technical solutions
    and test cases/scripts.

  • Partnering with staff deployed globally, including direct staff, vendors, and offshore
    partners.

  • Understand application dependencies and help define environment and infrastructure needs.
