Job Description

Position Overview:

This is a unique opportunity and calls for an ambitious, hard-working, highly analytical finance professional to be the finance lead supporting the Technology Sourcing organization. This entails collaborating with the Sourcing team, the Business Line, and FP&A teams to understand the expense/spend in a given category and to develop, execute and validate savings opportunities.

The payoff is that the Sr. Financial Analyst will have direct access and exposure to management and project teams, will participate in the analysis, financial modeling and presentation of key financial results and recommendations for use by Visa Leadership to influence the realization of savings to drive productivity. In addition, the role will work with others in the Finance and Sourcing teams to develop and improve the overall Budgeting, Forecasting and Reporting processes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for providing financial support to Technology Sourcing organization to analyze, model, track and realize savings opportunities
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with key stakeholders and serves as a key point of contact for the Sourcing and Finance teams
  • Learn quickly, read vendor proposals and contracts and to translate them into financial models and recommendations
  • Proactively communicate business implications observed from models, analysis, etc. and contribute ideas and solutions to business challenges / problems
  • Lead the coordination, organization and execution of projects as well as how savings are reflected in Budgets, Forecasts & Actuals
  • Collaborate with all levels of management and various stakeholders in a matrix organization structure
  • Drive continuous process improvements, standardization, simplification, and reporting enhancements, with a strong understanding of financial processes
  • Develop and improve Savings/Productivity processes in collaboration with the Business, Sourcing and Finance teams
  • Proactive, resourceful, and creative in fully utilizing available resources and data to achieve excellent analysis
  • Develop relevant financial metrics to provide key analytics to Business Partners
  • Must demonstrate well-developed strategic, analytical, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Thrives in an environment that is fast-paced, rapidly changing, and customer service-oriented

Qualifications


  • BS or BA in a technical field (Accounting, Finance, Engineering, etc.) with at least 5 years of experience with progressively increasing responsibility
  • Outstanding analytical and quantitative skills with ability to resolve tough business problems with well-structured analysis
  • Financial modeling skills to translate vendor proposals into simple, “scalable” models
  • Experience with and an understanding of financial statements to translate Sourcing deals to P&L impact
  • Advanced to expert skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Hyperion Planning and Essbase essential
  • Operates with minimal supervision and able to make informed, well-reasoned decisions independently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to clearly communicate results with senior level executives
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse team and produce time sensitive deliverables
  • Experience working with Sourcing preferred
  • MBA degree or equivalent preferred
