Job Description

Visa operates the world's largest retail electronic payments network and is one of the most recognized global financial services brands.  We offer a range of branded payment product platforms, which our financial institution clients use to develop and offer credit, charge, deferred debit, prepaid and cash access programs to cardholders. The Visa Facilities department is responsible for managing the design, planning, construction and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities. This function plans, budgets, and schedules facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials and other related costs. The facilities function designs organizational policies relevant to the facilities department and develops criteria and performance specifications required to meet unique operating requirements and building and safety codes.

This is an individual contributor role responsible for solving complex problems and taking a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions.  This role serves as a technical/functional specialist and works independently with guidance only in the most complex situations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The facilities engineer is responsible for installation and maintenance of environmental systems to include, but not limited to: Electrical Systems, Mechanical Systems, Fire Detection and suppression systems, Building Management System (BMS) for energy and environmental controls, and emergency backup systems.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance plan. Oversee preventive and routine maintenance of critical Data Center systems
  • General maintenance of Data Center and assist with general facilities as needed.
  •  Conducts preventative maintenance on machines, and maintains computers systems in proper operating condition.
  • Assist with critical systems training of IT personnel.
  • Maintain power management program for Data Center and direct approved power installs as requested.
  • Act as facilities representative on projects and serve as a liaison between Facilities and internal and external contacts as it pertains to the Data Center and/or labs.
  • Perform routine facilities activities including inventory control. Critical systems checks and functional testing.
  • Able to respond and take action in response to facilities crisis management activities including: power outages, fire alarms, HVAC outages.
  • Support service delivery organizations to ensure contracted service level agreements and key performance indicators are met or exceeded.
  • Drive continuous improvement in operations, cost, and quality performance.
  • Analyze data and identify trends with facility issues to determine root cause and take appropriate action.
  • Serve as escalation point to network, open systems, and large systems engineering and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd level support groups.


Qualifications

  • College degree preferably in a technical discipline, or equivalent work experience
  • Typically requires a minimum of 5-7 years of large data center technical experience
  • License in electrical work and or mechanical installations and repair preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge in the HVAC
  • Candidate must be driven, self-motivated, and a strong team player
  • General technical and functional knowledge of data center and/or lab infrastructure to include electrical and mechanical systems, fire detection and protection systems, building management systems, equipment maintenance, space planning, construction of critical facilities environments.
  • Must be able to learn quickly and adapt to new solutions / programs / ideas
