Job Description

The Director will be a core member of the Global Product Management team responsible for supporting the strategy and growth of Visa’s debit and prepaid products worldwide and specifically in highly prioritized markets. This person will help the team set global product strategies, drive innovation and development of new products, features and enhancements, and maintain the global infrastructure and operations for good funds products. He/she will work closely with regional and country product teams to ensure alignment, execution and commercialization of global strategic priorities.

Ideal candidates will bring to the role wide ranging experience and insight across the payments environment from traditional banking to retail distribution to emerging channels in greenfield, emerging and developed markets. Global perspective and acumen, coupled with experience in innovation and product development is critical; specifically, understanding the nuances and commonalities of each market, inspiring ideas, developing and testing concepts, and ensuring regional commercialization. A deep understanding of current payment technology landscape and trends is a must.  As well, demonstrated strength in building and maintaining internal and
external relationships will be an important factor to success.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Operationalizing the Global “Good Funds” strategy and priorities across regions in order to drive differentiation and adoption and usage
  • Identifying and prioritizing regions and countries for acceleration
  • Evaluating and developing an approach to working with national payment networks/ schemes where possible and appropriate
  • Establishing the bases by which Visa can compete with domestic schemes and cash/check in regions of accountability
  • Developing business cases and resource planning
  • Driving global innovation and development of new features, functionalities, and
    enhancement that can be leveraged worldwide

  • Developing actionable reporting and analytical tools to help the team monitor performance, engage on corporate planning processes, and formulate business cases for new opportunities
  • Owning and delivering on key global initiatives as identified and assigned
  • Supporting global FI RFPs and strategic partnerships
  • Leading and sharing regional/global knowledge base (e.g. best practices, performance metrics, market insights, economics)
  • Demonstrating subject matter expertise on technology/innovation trends both internally and externally, to guide global strategy and initiatives
  • Maintaining and evolving global infrastructure (e.g. global standards, practices, operating regulations, etc.)

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of experience; significant experiences in product management, development and strategy consulting in payment technology space highly valued
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree in Business or related field preferred
  • Consulting experience desired, with demonstrated success in developing, articulating and championing strategy
  • Vision and passion for payments industry, particularly debit and prepaid products, and its value chain and associated product economics is highly preferred
  • Global perspective and appreciation for differences and commonalities across markets
  • Strategic and analytical thinker; demonstrated aptitude to learn quickly
  • Effective in influencing and championing
  • Successful history of growing emerging businesses through strategy, innovation, development, and commercialization of new products and services
  • Results-oriented, change agent who consistently challenges the status quo and himself/ herself to aim for higher ground
  • Hands-on, entrepreneurial and nimble, while also able to navigate a globally matrixed environment (modeler of collaboration and influence)
  • Process oriented, with a high attention to detail and quality on both internal team work and external products brought to market
  • Outstanding communications skills as a spokesperson for global good funds products within Visa and across the industry
  • Ability to work in a fluid, creative and innovative environment
