Job Description

Job Scope
• Report into the AP CFO and support the Group Country Manager of Greater China (China, Hong Kong and Taiwan)
• Serve as the leader of the finance teams for Greater China and be a key point for commercial finance and all finance-related matters including controllership, sourcing and finance operation supports.
• A member of the Greater China leadership team and AP Finance leadership team, responsible for creating and maintaining a high standard of financial discipline, decision support, and accountability within the geography.
• Be a key advisor and thought partner to the Group Country Manager and Country Managers to facilitate delivery of the short-term financial targets as well as long-term growth targets.
• Provide strong financial thought leadership as it relates to growth strategies, current performance, business case analysis of client incentive deals; sales, marketing and product initiatives; as well as pricing proposals.

Responsibilities
• Provide support to the business in the delivery of financial targets
• Ensure the Country Management functional leaders are regularly updated on financial performance; provide insight into key variances and business trends and identify risk and opportunities (plus mitigating actions) to ensure delivery of the short-term financial targets and long-term strategic targets
• Support the business planning, budgeting and forecasting processes within the region for Revenues, Client Incentives and Operating Expenses. Coordinate inputs from the various functions for both Revenues and costs, analyse the forecast / budget outputs to support the review and challenge process
• Support country managers and sales cost centre managers in understanding expenditure, accruals and prepayments and improving the timing and accuracy of forecasts
    A.  Provide financial analysis and advice for new business propositions including client incentive deals, marketing campaigns, product and acceptance initiatives, capital investment and other projects.   
    B.  Maintain an in-depth understanding of pricing dynamics in the geography, including competitive pricing and positioning. Provide financial analysis support for pricing proposals. 
    C.  Track the financial performance of incentive deals, new business joint-ventures, acquisitions and strategic plan implementation.
• Routinely contributes new ideas and finds solutions to business challenges for operating divisions as well as Finance.
• Establishes and maintains relationships with the functional leads across the region and serve as a key point of contact for all Finance issues
• Acquires and maintains a deep understanding of the strategies, priorities and issues of functional areas of responsibility
• Responsible for delivering synthesized monthly analytics
• Partner with Global and Regional finance teams to understand variances, business drivers and influence forecasting assumptions
• Lead the organization and execution of quantitative and qualitative analyses, guiding and influencing functional staff to address business issues
• While financial analysis will clearly be an important element of the role, the emphasis is on applying overall analytical skills and experience to become a highly valued business partner
• Support the month-end, quarter-end and year-end reporting requirements in accordance with deadlines. Responsible for delivering synthesized monthly analytics
• Review results against budget, forecast and prior periods and prepare monthly commentary and variance analysis
• Ensure compliance with Visa Inc. policies and procedures, and US GAAP

Qualifications

Skills, Experience & Capabilities
Technical
The job holder must hold a bachelor’s degree (Commerce/Business degree preferred), CPA/CA qualification with extensive FP&A experience with a recognized, performance-driven multi-national company:
• Extensive commercial finance experience
• Proven commercial and analytical experience, including FP&A roles in a business unit within a global organization
• Understanding & experience of performance measurement and reporting techniques providing analytical, cost reduction and business case analysis support to non-financial management, as well as budgeting, forecasting, expenditure and variance commentaries
• Prior experience successfully communicating with, influencing and presenting to senior-level executives
• Prior experience leading and mentoring finance staff
• Demonstrated ability to deliver on multiple initiatives with tight timelines
• Working knowledge of financial controls and procedures, gained from experience with a major finance ERP package, preferably Hyperion and Oracle and demonstrate advanced expertise in MS Office
• International experience, ideally within a complex, matrix management organization preferable
• Preferred Experience
• At least 5 years of working experience in payments industry - in particular the credit/debit card business within a banking or eCommerce environment, is highly desirable
• Minimum requirement: Bachelor of Commerce/Business/Accountancy degree and CPA/CA equivalent
• Exposure to multi-currency environments preferred
• Preferably good working knowledge of US GAAP & IFRS
