Art Director/Graphic Designer

Description

Visa is seeking an Art Director/Graphic Designer to join our Global Brand Creative team. We want an idea-first Art Director/Graphic Designer with a portfolio that demonstrates a love for conceptual thinking. Ideal candidate will have 5+ years of design experience working on graphic design and brand identities: from understanding strategy to creative interpretation and execution. This roll requires strong conceptual, hands-on graphic design skills and experience designing within the corporate identity and branding space. You must have a systematic design approach, be a strategic thinker, and have a strong passion for brand identity. Our ideal candidate will work closely with Brand, Product, and Sponsorship Marketing teams for design development and project delivery.

Primary Responsibilities

• Create high-quality, on-brand designs – including but not limited to graphics, exhibits, presentations, iconography and other marketing collaterals/templates – clearly supporting business and user goals.
• Produce creative concepts from the ground up and execute across a wide range of output, from big one-off campaigns, to tactical everyday minutiae.
• Manage photoshoots and various creative initiatives
• Support managing of Brand Identity and Brand Style Guide while continuing to optimize, improve and evolve brand expression and those guides.
• Provide ongoing design consultation/reviews to both internal partners and agency partners.
• Manage design-related assets and tools for market activation, such as photography, illustration and iconography
• Be a brand steward by providing thought-leadership, inspiration and best practices, contributing to success of design applied to communications

Qualifications

Requirements
• BA degree in graphic design or equivalent required
• 5+ years of design experience in a creative agency or comparable in-house team
• Excellent portfolio, showcasing hands-on work and concepting ability (ideally marketing and brand oriented work)
• Ability to think conceptually/strategically and redefine problems rather than executing on solutions
• Mastery in Adobe Creative Suite (minimum Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign) and strong working knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Deep knowledge of layout, typography, hierarchy in design and production abilities when needed
• Skilled at translating business requirements into creative briefs and design solutions
• Strong working relationships with and management of external agency partners
• Ability to thrive in collaborative team environments and experience working in an environment with multiple stakeholders
• Fun, energetic and collaborative personality
