Job Description

Senior Director, Small Business Growth Initiatives & Execution, will be responsible for leading initiatives that enhance and/or expand distribution of existing Visa capabilities across the globe with a specific focus on small business segment solutions. This includes identifying and implementing partnership opportunities with players that may be highly complex, strategic and cross-functional in nature. This role requires an experienced business development professional who can identify potential deals, develop the tactics and coordinate the teams needed to bring them to fruition. The successful candidate will have international experience working in the financial services industry with knowledge of the small business payments landscape, competitive dynamics, global market players, and business models. The role will work closely with Platform and Client leads as well as other stakeholders such as Processing, Risk, Finance and Communications to execute.

Responsibilities: 

• Manage a key set of strategic initiatives designed to grow Visa’s global market share in the small business segment

• Work with cross-functional internal teams in multiple-regions to expand necessary functionality, address barriers and secure funding needed to advance key initiatives

• Identify strategic partnership opportunities for Visa capabilities through a strong understanding of the small business segment and customer's needs, leveraging Visa solutions across our platforms

• Continuously review global market landscape, identifying developing partnership opportunities that will position Visa as the market leader

• Develop and execute customized partner account strategies, objectives and plans to increase revenue and market share for select accounts

• Lead the account and relationship management plan for these accounts, ensuring that each party’s business objectives are met as appropriate

• Work with internal teams to ensure partner implementations are on track and delivering against plan

• Provide input into product roadmaps with an emphasis on enhancements that can drive partner and therefore Visa performance

Qualifications

• A minimum of 10-15 years experience with related business development and product management experience in financial technology and/or payments industry; specific small business segment experience preferred

• A global mindset with demonstrated success aligning stakeholders in multiple countries

• Proven record of implementing strategic initiatives, policies and operational decisions

• Demonstrated track record of planning, managing and closing a complex, competitive sales effort and managing deals from negotiation, to closing and through delivery

• Strategic thinking and thought leadership

• Teamwork, interpersonal & relationship-building skills, and ability to lead by influence and example

• Proven ability to partner, communicate and manage/navigate through multiple disciplines and organizational groups

• Experience “managing up”, building Executive Level communications and delivering presentations

• Ability to work within a complex and often ambiguous environment, and to influence senior management and other relevant parties

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA is a plus

• Executive presence; Strong written and oral communication, including large-group presentations
