Job Description

The Director role will be a member of Visa’s North America Operations team, which is responsible for various activities and initiatives that support the NA Sales team as well as the development and management of
regional programs that span across U.S. and Canada.
The position requires a seasoned professional with a
broad, well-rounded set of skills, a high level of energy, flexibility and the perpetual enthusiasm to learn new things and take on new responsibilities, and a demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, time-sensitive
environment.
The position is based in Foster City, California with the need to be in our San Francisco
offices as necessary.

As a Director you will:

  • Work closely with and deliver on the event vision
    and strategy with NA Event Lead

  • Support execution aspects across a variety of NA client event elements - project management,
    RFP issuance negotiation and management of vendor contracts, PO issuance |
    budget management, registration site creation, invite process, event reporting,
    mobile app development, post event activities and support

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to deliver on key elements of client events
    (i.e. innovation showcase and demos, creative design elements, etc.)

An ideal candidate is experienced in managing multiple events at the same time, yet has the ability to see topline strategy and can support the delivery of the overall event message and theme. You thrive in a world where you can think big but can also execute details flawlessly. You are creative and
energized by pushing the boundaries. In this role you will work closely with NA Meeting and Events Colleagues and Corporate Events. This position reports directly to the Head of North America Client Events.

Qualifications

  • Certified Meeting Professional (CMP)

  • Proven experience in project management

  • 5+ years of experience in B2B event management for a top tech
    company (enterprise and/or financial services experience strongly preferred)

  • A strong event portfolio illustrating a wide range of events.You’ve supported large corporate events, built custom exhibit booths, c-level meetings, hosted webinars and everything in between

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, pro-active and work independently within a complex and often ambiguous environment, yet eager to work x-functionally with personnel of all levels to accomplish project objectives

  • Experience in creating and generating management reports; Superior communication skills (written & verbal)

  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency, and deliver under tight deadlines/time frames; prioritize workload

  • Trustworthy and credible; high level of integrity and excellent sense of judgment

  • Deep understanding (and passion!) for the inner workings of client event management

  • Excels at organizing and prioritizing many projects and new requests

  • Serious attention to detail and a commitment to excellence

  • Highly proficient in MS Project, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint

  • Salesforce.com, Cvent, Click Tools, and Eloqua experience is a
    MUST

  • Some travel is required
