As the leader of the Business Intelligence & Analytics organization at Visa’s Data Labs in Bangalore, reporting to the VP BI & Analytics Products, you will work in a rapid-paced environment leading various business intelligence and engineering teams developing next generation solutions for Visa. In addition, you will have Site Leader responsibilities, which include accountability for strategy, planning, hiring, vendor management, and overall execution & delivery. You will face big challenges and question the status quo. You will change the way data products are developed at Visa with this initiative.

In this role, you will spearhead product development and engineering efficiency in product teams by delivering data services, tools, and systems that will accelerate creating products featuring the best customer experience with the highest reliability, security, and outcome for Visa. You will also evangelize the Engineering Fundamentals for all development teams at Visa. This includes engaging in technical and functional discussions with all the engineering teams.

Successful candidates will be highly adaptable, possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and able to effectively manage multiple work streams. You should have had experience collecting or analyzing engineering data and using this data to drive business decisions. You should have familiarity with databases, technologies, automation, platforms, and tools especially focused around engineer productivity, whether it be development, research, or operations

The ideal candidate for this position will have more than 15 years of technical product and/or program management experience with an ability to think tactically as well as strategically. The person should be able to lead cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.

Responsibilities:

Executes the vision for the BI & Analytics organization, ensuring delivery of differentiating data products and services for Visa and its partners. The successful candidate is continually engaged in leading and inspiring the teams in the performance of all duties and responsibilities.

Establish a Data Science research and development practice for Data Products, focused on machine learning, AI, and analytics for the payments industry

Provide site leadership responsibilities for growing Visa’s Bangalore Data Labs facility

Extensive cross-organization collaboration playing a crucial role in interfacing with various technology teams and business stakeholders to identify requirements, converting them to functional specs, prioritizing, and driving execution using agile methodologies.

Evangelize developer productivity solutions and systems across all the development teams to drive adoption.

Work collaboratively across team boundaries to share common infrastructure and functional capabilities. Provide feedback into core product teams to influence their roadmap and strategy.

We are looking for a seasoned individual to drive game-changing data product development in and around Visa

Experience leading company-wide BI and Analytics programs, business-acumen, and technical expertise in data space, self-service analytics, and product development processes

Experience leading cross-functional teams, mentoring, and managing stakeholders across business units and Technology

Experience managing vendors and establishing partnerships with industry and academia

Strong record of accomplishment in hiring and building diverse teams

Direct experience with Hadoop distributions, including Cloudera and Hortonworks is highly desirable

Technical hands on skills, ideally in multiple technology stacks for data, web development, APIs and Mobile application development on diverse platforms

Experience with data warehouse/lake, data virtualization architecture, and BI technologies including MicroStrategy, Looker, Tableau, and D3.js

Professional experience in ideation, incubation, quick prototyping, and hackathons, which has led to developing new products

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Self-motivated and drive for excellence

Team builder and capable of building culture for innovation

15+ years of software engineering experience

5+ years of experience in leadership roles with increasing responsibility MS or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent

Bonus Qualifications:

Prior experience establishing/leading a technology center or data research lab

Financial services and/or payments processing industry experience is a plus.

Patents and other proofs of past success in creating IP
