Job Description

Position Summary

The Analytics and Data Products team is responsible for delivering data driven insights for business analysis and analytical projects. It consists of experts in data driven analytics with relevant experience in product, marketing and/or consulting. The team actively partners with the local country team members and the business units to deliver top quality analytical projects and business analysis.

The Product Analytics Manager, as a part of the team will responsible for leading, executing and delivering all customer and portfolio analysis to the assigned business unit in Japan Market. They will execute on business analysis projects, while establishing and/or executing best practices in the industry.

The Product Analytics Manager role will provide advanced SAS programming, data analysis and presentation preparation to execute and deliver on business units’ requirement. The person will play a key “hands-on” role in business analysis and analytical projects and directly contribute to the success of the same.

Job Scope

The Product Analytics Manager will be responsible for:

- Executing and leading end-to-end data analysis projects based on project timelines and deliverables

- Analyzing large datasets in SAS

- Interpreting summarized numbers to present business cases and storylines for the analysis

- Creating presentations based on data analysis

- Creating and if applicable, automating SAS programs for data analysis

Responsibilities


- Develop and produce end-to-end analyses from a variety of sources based on business requirements

- Work with Japan country teams to understand business needs and translate them into project requirements

- Deliver high quality analyses that synthesize data analysis and research into key fact-based findings and actionable recommendations.

- Creating and if applicable, automating SAS programs for data analysis

- Work hands-on to deliver on projects, extracting data from various Visa data sources and manipulating data in Excel/SAS/HADOOP, drawing conclusions, and creating insightful outputs for Clients

- Help in developing approach and methodology to analytical questions / projects brought by the business; understand and clarify business objectives and requirements

- Actively execute on project deliverables and timelines to provide meaningful insights to business

- Ensure deliverables exceed expectations and are highly-valued by clients and internal teams

- Resolve data and other analysis related issues as they arise in the project

- Quality: Maintain a robust control environment in terms of data protection, quality standards, and compliance with benchmarking and disclosure rules



Qualifications

Professional

- Experience in data analytics in banking/payments industry

- Strong academic credentials with experience in BFSI

- Demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor

- Must be team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, with excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities

- Project management experience preferable

Technical

 - Very strong data understanding and analysis skills; should be a functional expert database and data models

- Expert level SAS, including SAS macro and SAS/SQL

- Knowledge of R and HADOOP is a plus

- Expert level PowerPoint

- Analytical tool experience – Microstrategy, Tableau etc.

- Working knowledge of statistical principles such as linear regression, logistic regression, multivariate analysis, and experimental design

- Excellent written English

- Ability to execute and solve problems independently

- Knowledge of the cards and payments business

- Experience presenting ideas and analysis to stakeholders

Business

- Experienced in using analytics to produce insights

- Detailed oriented, is expected to ensure highest level of quality/rigor in reports & data analysis

- Global mindset, desire and demonstrated ability to work cross-culturally and in a matrixed organization

- Proven skills in translating analytics output to actionable recommendations, and delivery

- Multi-disciplinary thinking skills: creative, analytic, strategic

- Excellent communicator, with strong English written and verbal skills

Nice to have

- Understanding of the issuer payment card P/L

- Experience in credit card marketing and/or product management

- Experience in credit risk, direct marketing, consulting
