Company Description

Imagine working for one of the pioneers in the payment technology space. The kind of company that’s been setting the bar for the way people pay and get paid for more than 50 years, and continues to innovate on a global scale. Now imagine that company is less than 10,000 employees worldwide, small enough that you’ll actually have an impact and do some amazing things. Sounds pretty awesome. Well, that company exists and it’s Visa.

Yep, Visa.

Imagine, in a single day, the diversity of transactions that Visa manages – from gaming enthusiasts who buy virtual goods to advance a level, to a small business merchant launching their first ecommerce business to a large consumer brand hitting their largest single-day sale. Now multiply transactions and interactions like that by millions on a global scale – that's Visa. It is a multi-billion dollar market that has experienced year over year growth!

Job Description

The successful candidate will support Network Processing Communications (NPC) in delivering the semi-annual business release documentation that includes the VisaNet Business Enhancements Release Global Technical Letter and Implementation Guide (GTLIG) and Global Service Activation Guide (GSAG). On-time delivery of the GTLIG is an SSAE 16 audit item.

Primary Responsibilities/Key Results

• Develop Technical Letter (TL) articles for the Global Technical Letter and Implementation Guide (GTLIG) and Service Activation (SA) articles for the Global Service Activation Guide (GSAG) for the semi-annual VisaNet Business Enhancements Release. The TL and SA articles may support new products, services, and implementation for the Application Program Interface (API), China Domestic Processing, Open VisaNet, Europe integration, including enhancements to the Visa Token Service, Visa payWave, Visa Smart Debit/Credit (VSDC), Visa Direct for original credit transactions (OCT), Interlink, and other Visa products and services; and changes to existing core systems functionality (BASE I, V.I.P, BASE II, VSS, Direct Exchange, SMS Offline, CORE, Config, and VCMS). The GTLIG is used by Visa Inc. clients to determine multiregional or regional impacts in the U.S., Canada, Latin America and Caribbean (LAC), Asia Pacific (AP), and Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa (CEMEA), and Europe. The GSAG is used by Visa staff to determine activation and implementation.

• Analyzes business requirements, multi-system conceptual approaches and technical designs to define and document the technical changes in the TL articles to which clients must code their systems, and/or implementation setup and testing requirements that clients and Client Support Services (CSS) staff must perform for semi-annual business release enhancements. Determines from consultations with the project team and the project documents, what information is applicable to the audience, either clients or Visa staff, and positions it appropriately in the article.

• Collaborates with Systems architects, Product, software engineers, project managers, and CSS staff to ensure complex multi-system technical requirements, and/or implementation and testing requirements are fully developed and documented for business release enhancements, and clients and CSS support needs are met. Ensures that all impacts to external client systems and/or all implementation and testing impacts and requirements for clients and CSS are fully and accurately documented. Conducts walkthroughs of TL and SA articles with the project team.

• Proactively drives and contributes to the design solution, implementation requirements, and testing plans, as the GTLIG deadlines precede the availability of design documents, and on-time delivery of the TL is a SSAE 16 audit item.

• May also perform tasks to produce review documents and final publications, including multiple customized editions of final publications for direct-connect merchants and competitors, such as MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and JCB.

• Responsible for gaining approval and signoff for articles from the project team, Product contact, and Product Senior Director.

• Writes business release documentation (TL and SA articles) using a customized XML-based structured authoring tool and adhering to business release writing standards.

• Collaborates with the Network Processing Communications team to produce high quality business release documents, including the GTLIG and GSAG.

• Completes additional assignments, such as developing standalone Technical Letters, Client Implementation Guides, Service Activation Guides, and Service Advisories for off-release systems implementations, or managing updates to internal guides for CSS staff, such as the Single Message System Service Activation Guide and Clearing User's Guide for the Configuration Repository.

• Supports the semi-annual VisaNet Business Release process by serving as a technical contact and providing communications support in the Command Center.

• Serves as third-level support to respond to complex client inquiries referred by Product and CSS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree; requires a minimum of 12+ years of progressively responsible relevant experience
• Minimum of five years of experience at Visa, with strong knowledge of Visa core systems and processing
• Must be proficient in writing highly technical documentation based on the business requirements and conversations with the project team, including client support, product, senior software engineers, and architects
• Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and leadership skills along with effective communication (both written and verbal) skills
• Demonstrated ability to absorb, analyze, and understand new information, technologies and practices quickly
• Proven business processes analysis skills: gathering business requirements, analyzing systems impacts, accurately capturing system requirements and specifications
