Job Description

This role is an individual contributor responsible for applying skills and knowledge to perform specified support functions. Staff Systems Engineer with required experience to be involved with Visa's High Availability Tier 0 systems. Primary duties will be to provide operational support for Data Protection Technologies and Cybersecurity applications, to plan, execute and manage Data protection technologies server/client implementations and to ensure all security, quality and compliance requirements are met. Tasks include monitor and address production issues related to data protection tools and security applications. Ability to train staff and users and promote data security awareness to ensure system security. Triage issues working with Vendors and Development and engineering resources. Respond to incident management system tickets. Support requires on call on a weekly rotating basis which includes weekends during local day time including weekends.

Qualifications

Key skill sets:

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/ Computer Science/ Computer Information Systems/related field.

  • Must have 1 or 2 years’ implementation/support experience in one/more of the following technologies/tools: Safenet/Gemalto Data Protections tools (ProtectApp, ProtectFile, SQL EKM, DB2 KMIP), Vormetric Transparent Encryption Agent, IBM Spectrum scale KMIP, HPE Voltage Tokenization Secure Data Appliance, Hashicorp Vault, Venafi.

  • Must have 6 years of overall experience in following areas with at least 2 years’ experience in Security tools, applications.

1. Security area:  Crypto background - encryption, hashing. Digital Certificate management, PKI
and PKCS standards., 
Basic knowledge of data security standards - FFIEC, PCI-DSS

2. OS/Platform area: Linux/Windows OS expertise, Kernel Crash research experience, Various File systems knowledge – NFS, SAN etc. RHEL packaging, RPMS and how they relate to Kernel, distributions, patching,
major/minor versions. 
Knowledge of HP Non-Stop (tandem), Knowledge of MVS,  Knowledge
of z/TPF. Knowledge of Cloud environments.

3. DB level and Middleware area: Knowledge of MS-SQL, Oracle and LUW DB2, Knowledge
of Cloudera Hadoop distribution and administration. 
Knowledge of IIS, Tomcat.

4. Application Development area: CLI & Web Interface management. Basic API integration & Debug skills with C/C++ & .NET. Web services, Java knowledge, Familiar with Software Development life-cycle.
