Job Description

Overview:
The primary purpose of this role is Global Category Lead for Network Hardware. As such, this role is responsible for maintaining strategic interlock with technology business partners and driving down total cost of ownership for the Network Hardware domain. In addition, this position will manage the Value Added Reseller (VAR) Strategy with an aim to simplifying the purchase process, lower costs and improve value received.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead portfolio of strategic and tactical vendors to negotiate and drive out best-in-class deals for Visa.
  • Effectively drive multi-vendor strategy that aligns with technology strategy and drives down cost.
  • Work with internal customer groups to establish specifications for focused categories.
  • Build relationships with business leaders in IT to facilitate Sourcing engagement
  • Develop and maintain a technology sourcing pipeline with a mechanism to include new development and capacity adds early
  • Perform market analysis, benchmark analysis and spend analysis for focused categories.
  • Support the development and execution of Category sourcing strategies within the IT space, particularly Network Hardware.
  • Work closely with the Technology Business off to tap into the procurement pipeline and support negotiations for renewals as well as new investments
  • Identify, select, and manage suppliers who have the capacity and capability to meet the needs of the business.
  • Perform savings tracking and report realized savings on a continuous basis.
  • Ensure realized savings ties back to departmental budget.
  • Setup Sourcing events of strategic complexity (RFI, RFP, RFQ).
  • Assists in, and facilitates, negotiations, in conjunction with the business owners to establish contract terms and conditions.
  • Reviews and approves contracts in accordance with company terms and conditions.
  • Interacts with Legal and other company departments and agencies to analyze risks associated with agreements and develop language to minimize exposure whenever needed.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience as a sourcing and/or procurement professional with a focus on IT spend/vendor relationships.
  • 7+ years leading, the development and management of category plans or sourcing strategies.
  • 5+ years managing a team of category leads
  • In-depth understanding of the supplier marketplace for the assigned categories; deep industry and/or professional relationships with vendors in the categories a plus
  • Strategic leadership roles for IT vendor management initiatives, including but not limited to the execution of critical sourcing events (RFP, RFI, etc).
  • Experience working with finance business partners to create TCO models for strategic deal analysis
  • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills and an ability to synthesize complex and technical information into clear recommendations on course of action.
  • Knowledgeable about contract terms and conditions.
  • Demonstrated contract and agreement negotiation experience, including development of negotiating plans and strategies.
  • Experience managing internal customers and users of the category’s goods or services and experience tracking and directing demand to preferred suppliers.
  • Strong relationship-management skills and ability to influence at senior-to-exec management level both internally and externally.
  • Willingness to offer thought leadership, to think creatively, and to offer new ways to approach old problems
  • Undergraduate degree required, graduate degree in business, economics or public policy preferred
  • Professional accreditation in sourcing / procurement a plus
