Job Description
The Coordinator, Government
Relations – will report to the Vice President, Head of Government Relations for
Central Europe, Eastern Europe, Middle East & Africa (CEMEA). The successful candidate will be a
self-starter with strong organizational and writing skills, comfortable
covering multiple assignments at once, and capable of quickly and efficiently
producing high-quality deliverables on a daily basis. S/he should have some
experience working in the public, private, or not-for-profit sectors, ideally
with a focus on government relations or public policy issues.
This position will be
involved in all aspects of Visa’s government relations work, including
providing essential support to our GR team across CEMEA, doing extensive
research and writing to further Visa’s policy agenda, and assisting with office
administrative responsibilities relating to our advocacy work. The role includes a broad range of project
management work related to the analysis of public policy, development of
stakeholder management tools, issue tracking, executive correspondence, and issue
advocacy position papers.
As the Coordinator will
be frequently called upon to meet time-sensitive needs for important internal
and external stakeholders, the successful candidate must be an excellent
listener capable of quickly developing and executing plans accurately from the
top lines down to the smallest details.
This primary

Specific responsibilities
include:
Extensive
writing, including content development and production of periodic government
relations reports to internal stakeholders, including biweekly and monthly
newsletters, as well as weekly activity reports for executives.
Support
Visa’s legislative agenda by helping prepare policy briefings, position papers
and presentations.Monitor
and coordinate legislative tracking and meeting engagements.Coverage
and reporting of external hearings and meetings in support of Visa’s public policy
engagement.
Provide
extensive assistance in support of Visa’s broader global government relations
agenda, including regular written reports and updates to company senior
leadership and preparing executive briefings for engagements by senior executives.Develop
and manage the government relations team’s document repository on Share Point,
including internal presentations, briefings, policy papers, and correspondence.Assist
with content management for Visa’s government relations intranet site for employees.Supporting
engagement with third-party organizations and trade associations to help
advance Visa’s policy agenda.Assist
with special projects including presentations to executives; research on policy
initiatives, and support of external advocacy-related events.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business
administration, public policy, economics, political science, or related
discipline. - A minimum of 1-2 years of
experience working on policy and business issues in the private sector or
in government.
Outstanding
written, oral, and interpersonal communications skills with a particular
emphasis on English writing skills.
- Ability to exercise good judgment
regarding information, which may be confidential or material, non-public. - Proven ability to operate
effectively and efficiently in a challenging, fast-paced environment. - Ability to multi-task and independently
manage and prioritize work, while meeting key deadlines. - Strong attention to detail with
a focus on high quality work and consistent performance over time is
essential. - Exercise good judgment in
setting priorities and interacting with internal and external contacts.
Excellent
relationship management skills and ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Proven experience acting in a
proactive, solutions oriented manner, looking for ways to add value and
assist the team. - Advanced proficiency in
Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and SharePoint (all
applicants subject to Microsoft skills testing).
